if de jong is coming, jorginho is surely leaving. but theres almost no rumour about him leaving, so i dont know...i doubt that the de jong stuff is true.

If De Jong is coming it means we aren't extending Jorginho's contract. Not necessarily he's leaving.

Gilmour will likely be sold. Ruben up in the air.

Jorginho/De Jong/Kante/Kovacic/Gallagher

For me, I dont want us to force buy a RWB just for the sake of buying. If there isnt a good RWB available may aswell play RLC there, he is comfortable here and he is not looking to move. He does an ok job there, we have to remember that whoever we sign they will probably here for 3+ years. Next year most of the deadwood are out of contract, no need to be adding more to the list. Also remember that Livramento's buy back can be triggered next season.

30-35 mil for Walker-Peters? I swear they rip you off once they hear Chelsea's bidding

Transfer fee inflation over the last 24 months is staggering. It seems that the price to any top club, for any player under 28 with more than a year remaining on his contract, starts at £60m these days. In that context £30m-£35m seems positively reasonable but of course it's a ludicrous amount of money. The only way we can avoid getting caught in the overspending trap is to walk away but when we do that the board gets screamed at.

Considering it is the backbone to our system thriving, understandable.

Its overkill. With Cucurella £ 50m, Gvardiol/Fofana 70m, Dumfries/Walker Peters 30m, Slonina, 12m - total spending goes to £ 240m + and nearly 200m of it on defence.

Is it overkill?

Last season we saw an inexperienced Chalobah prone to errors at the latter end of the season.

We saw arguably the worst CB to ever put on a Chelsea kit in Sarr who was a calamity waiting to happen.

We saw Azpilicueta prone to errors towards the latter end of the season given he can't keep up with the pace of the game anymore.

We saw Alonso being Alonso whilst Chilwell was out of the esason.

We saw James overplayed and injury stricken.

For me, this has to happen.

I like the signings and agree we need them but a 200m rebuild with 1 attacking signing and no change in midfield?
