I believe Maxwel Cornet played primarily as a wingback in France before becoming a winger for Burnley. So that link makes sense if we want a inexpensive backup for Chilly if Alonso leaves. He’s super quick, skillful, and athletic so I’d feel a bit better about him rotating with Chilly than I do when Alonso has to come in.

Maatsen apparently turned down a move to Feyenoord. Maybe Tuchel has him in mind this season.

If it were true, he would've followed De Jong to Barcelona. Not to mention he never played at the same youth level as either Gravenberch or Mazraoui so not sure how they can say these are his close mates. 

We have Jacobs, DiMarzio, and Pedulla who are reliable sources claiming he prefers a move to the Prem. Feels like this is fabrication on Bayern's end to put pressure on the player. 

 

 

Yeah, the Ajax mates stuff is BS. I mean they have also been German tweets saying he is a Bayern fan. It is all hype that far too many believe.

I saw Cornet last season and he looked decent every time I saw him. Far too good for Burnley. I would be interested in him as a back up role player for a WB role.

Wasn't the Maatsen story that he has more put it on hold as TT said he wanted a closer look?

I think the problem is CM is down the list of priorities. We currently need 2 x CB and at least 1 x AM before we need to look at CM and I would argue that we need back-ups at WB also before a CM is needed. 

That said, FDJ is a premium player so if there is a chance, you've got to take it as it is rare to get an opportunity on someone of his quality at his age.

Btw what happened to Lewis Hall? Played one game where he was outstanding, and didn’t get another senior appearance. Tuchel should have wasted time on him instead of Sarr.

Well he's not even a LWB, he only played there because of the opposition. Speaking of which, looking good against a non-league side is totally different from playing in the Prem.
