Alessandro Bastoni for me, as he is taller (1.90m versus 1.78m), same age (4 months and a day younger actually), left footed, this is his 4th full season at top-flight football, higher upside IMHO.

Sevilla FC with Kounde won the Europa League against Inter where Bastoni and Lukaku played.

and Bastoni won Serie A and the Euros

using your logic

Dias is inferior because we beat Citeh in the CL final

Bastoni has played 6 games (5 starts) for the Italian national Sr team, including a start in the 2021 Euros

every single game was a clean sheet

against Poland, in the Nations League, he shut down Lewa for the full 90 minutes, bossed him, and his partner in that game was the weakest (although still pretty good) of all the Italian NT CB's , Francesco Acerbi

Bastoni is a central of other characteristics to Kounde. If you are looking for a player who, in addition to defending well, generates a game that is Kounde. But hey, for Sevilla FC the best news is that Kounde stays here. We don't want him to leave.

only players remotely available who make me truly excited and who we need (IMHO) either thus year of next

Mbappe (not going to happen)

Barella my number one want next summer, unless we are (again, so unlikely for many reason) in the Mbappe mix

Chiesa (the only winger, other than Mbappe, who remotely interests me)

Bastoni (but if we get Kounde, then he is likely not coming anytime soon)

Tchouaméni

Theo Hernandez (the only remotely available LB who interests me)

Jude Bellingham (IF he stays at Dortmund, then maybe summer 2023) Saul would have been nice.

Camavinga (if no Bellingham, but Camavinga is likely off to RM or PSG)

and then one who we technically do not need (Oblak)

Håland is off the list due to Lukaku,

and we lost out on the last one, Hakimi (he was only RB/RWB for me, the rest are not good enough, unless we had (and we WERE going to until his horrific Achilles rupture) purchased the right-footed Leonardo Spinazzola and used him at RWB instead of his normal (and strange for me) LWB

Rice is simply not worth £100m, only Mbappe, Håland, and maybe Barella and Chiesa are (and NOT over £100m for the last two)

Pedri is NOT available, so, so not available. Same for Frenkie de Jong, Marquinhos, de Bruyne (and he turns 31yo right after the end of this season), Bruno (and he is a cunt, lol), Joshua Kimmich, de LigtDonnarummaMarcos Llorente, Rúben Dias, Jadon Sancho, Alphonso Davies, and Phil Foden

Chelsea's Saul offer rejected

Chelsea look likely to miss out on a deal for Atletico Madrid's Saul Niguez, reports Sky Italia.

The Blues submitted an official loan offer for the 26-year-old midfielder, but it fell below the La Liga champions' expectations.

Saul has fallen out of favour under Diego Simeone and has been offered to several Premier League clubs.

Sevilla have raised their asking price for Jules Kounde to £68.5m according to the Telegraph.

I never believed the £42m, but thought around $51 to £56 )€60-65m) would seal the deal

Can’t imagine we’ll go the whole window selling off like 15 players and only signing 1.

We can challenge for the title with what we have now. But if we’re serious about winning it then we need just 1 or 2 more quality players.

we don't need Kounde, not at any cost at least.

We could snap up Grenier, Fernando or Wilshere (lol) on a short term contract if Ng's injury is worse  than first tought.

Chalobah played MF last night. He seems capable.

yeah i guess that is probably where he is meant to feature mostly if we sign Kounde. No chance he gets a sniff at Cb afterwards. But if Kante is like out for the season, we need someone else.
