Gallagher is indeed very talented and tidy on the ball. But then so is Billy. Should definitely be given a chance in preseason to see if TT can make use of him.

I watched five of his games during the second half of the season, just to watch him. In a couple he looked good, but at times not doing much to position himself to be a part of the build up. The other games it was not easy to find him on the field. Just jogging around out there. I think his lack of quickness in pressing will hurt him with Tuchel. Not speed, but he doesn't seem to be quick on his toes in making challenges, just token pressure like Pulisic does most of the time. Pulisic seems to be improving in that area. CG needs to step that up to impress Tuchel.

The tricky thing with Gallagher is whether Tuchel would trust him enough to use him extensively throughout the season or will he just be another backup like Gilmour was last season. The fact that Tuchel gave the OK to send Gilmour on loan to get more playing time is already somewhat telling. If Gallagher is just gonna be backup, then there's gonna be a problem because Tuchel will then just rotate between Kante, Kovacic and Jorginho and that's not gonna be enough for the entire season.

First thing I noticed when watching his highlights from this past season. He looks kind of slow.

No fucking about here, Roman is smelling blood, we are going to get Haaland....the pressure of the big bid will cripple Dortmund and Raiola will get his man the gig, watch this space.

Not a fucking chance BVB turned down nigh on double what they could get next year, no fucking chance.

I agree that Dortmund will accept such offer, but I have doubt that we will make such offer.

See all this talk about us wanting a CB, why aren’t we throwing our name in for Varane and letting United a free run at him?

It feels like we can't buy before selling and we can't sell before buying.

Defence isn’t a worry atm.

Silva/Rudiger/Dave/James/Christensen and Guehi/Zouma

We certainly don’t need a CB now, that’s true. But we keep hearing about Zouma going and both Silva and Azpi are old. We’ll probably need to replace both next summer anyways and we’ll be fully past COVID and clubs’ finances being in the gutter then.

May as well get a young, long term CB this summer if an opportunity presents itself and prices are still relatively reasonable. Someone like Varane for the rumored 45-50m is a great deal. He’d cost nearly twice that in a normal summer and if he had a couple more years on his contract.

I really rate Süle as well.

Silva’s game time also probably needs to be managed given his age, Silva and Christensen also had some injuries last season and let’s not forget that Christensen’s and Rudiger’s contracts are yet to be sorted out.

Yep. Weird how the AC and Rüdi situations aren’t officially sorted yet. I’m sure both will get done (and could very well be already) but it’s strange how we let their contracts run down when we’re usually good at avoiding these situations.

It hasn't helped that neither has been first choice under Lampard. Rudiger nearly moved on last summer and was linked again moving in January and Christensen had a couple of runs but ultimately wasn't first choice under Lampard, so I could see the reasons why this time last year both may not have been prepared to commit, and similarly the club may have been anticipating to move them on ourselves.

I'm pretty sure both will end up signing new contracts shortly, along with Azpi.

Romano is tickling our balls. Fjortoft is grade C at best.
