As difficult as I find it to say Werner did anything of note, his movement and running in behind is the only thing that keeps him in this team. Without that he wouldn’t be playing.

His wayward goal radar aside, you said it as if he doesn't contribute assists (okay there is none today but still) to the team.

I shall say so no more for fear of getting an essay-length reply. 🤣

Werner does things that no 1 eles does that enables us to play like we do, his game needs work but trust me we play better when he is on the field.

Bullshit...keep hearing same line since last season...

No chance. Lukaku is not ready, Kai played 120 mins and Ziyech is injured. Puli scored and we have MM. Werner is 6th in packing order. And soon this will be clear to anyone including Tuchel.

Can I just say that you would make a very fascinating Liverpool fan to follow?

He does sometimes assist but your making out he did it every game or that he didnt have wee bursts where he got so many in a row then did nothing for ages last season.

I don’t know how you can sit and act as if hes contributing to the team, theres not been any clear signs of progression with him in pre-season either and it’s worrying.

I hope it changes with Lukaku playing but ultimately if it doesn’t he will find himself on the bench and soon.

Do u actually watch the game of do u just watch who ever is on the ball? I suggest just watching werners movement and runs etc etc and just watch the space he creates and the players he pulls out of position.

U was saying lol

Still we unlocked them with free kick goal by defender. 3rd goal also defender. 2nd goal after GK deflected it.

Also we scored 8 against Palace last season. And also we started last season with 3 goals against Brighton (Zouma, James and Jorginho scored).

We need more from attackers. This game did not look different in that department.

Something that looked much better than many times last season was how crisp and quick our passing was. There wasn’t any of that annoying walking pace stuff that infuriated me so many times.

Aye, he did go through a barren run last season but do we just ignore the context of him losing confidence during that period before getting somewhat better after Tuchel came in?

Did he not contribute to the team under Tuchel last season? Sure, the goals were lacking but the assists weren't.

We'll see what happens this season.

He only played 2 pre-season games and just 4 games overall. Are you really expecting progression so fast immediately after the summer break?

Has anyone showed clear signs of progression so far this season, besides the goals?

He often moves the defence and is non stop. Today was not a good day. I dont ever remember his first touch being as bad as it was today. I hope he gets it together because he could really be good for Lukaku. Pulisic would be the one to put him on the bench if Puli plays better link up with Lukaku.

Thought we were so slow and a tad ponderous till we got the goals.
