City ain't paying that money for him almost never pay so much on a player, aside of that Pep doesn't even play with a striker and dislikes Raiola, I don't think it happens. It's either us, Real or staying another year most likely.

I like our chances if we get top 4 and go as far as possible in CL maybe even semifinals if we get Porto or Real, we also have enough deadwood to offload and still pay most of the fee for Haaland and a CB.

Aye I think if it does go to a bidding war, we may have the advantage (should we accomplish those things you mentioned).

Can't recall the last time City were in a bidding war. Hazard? They also didn't want to pay his wages.

From the top of my head they got outbid with Fred, Jorginho, Sanchez probably more, they usually lose in bidding wars.

As long as Tuchel's delivering on field, Haaland will be interested to join no doubt, we have a very exciting and young squad and a good project.

Have we ever paid over 100 million on a player? The most we have paid is just over 70 million on Kepa and Havertz and that's only a bit higher than what City paid for Dias. Moreover, if City were willing to pay big for Messi last summer, there's no reason why they can't or won't go big for Haaland, especially when he can be a long term asset, more so than Messi.

Pep doesn't even play with a striker? He had Lewandowski at Bayern. He plays Aguero and Jesus at Man City but one is too injury prone and the other is not reliable enough.

Guardiola dislikes Raiola...does anyone even like Raiola? The board also don't like Raiola but that's not exactly stopping us from targeting Haaland/

Real Madrid aren't exactly overflowing with money right now and they seem more interested in getting Mbappe.

You could argue that Fred and Sanchez were not worthy of the money they were asking for while we had the Sarri factor with Jorginho and on hindsight, can't say City have lost much at all by missing out on those signings.

But on the flip side, we have no stability whatsoever and god knows when this project will actually come good. City have the stability and can guarantee quicker success than us.

Transfer update: Dortmund will ask for €150m for Haaland in the summer

https://barcauniversal.com/transfer-update-dortmund-will-ask-for-e150m-for-haaland-in-the-summer/

As we move closer to the transfer window, there is a new report surrounding probably the window’s hottest commodity, Erling Braut Haaland, almost every day. This time it’s Dortmund’s Sporting Director who is making heads turn. According to the German Bild Sport (relayed by City Xtra), Dortmund will ask for €150m for Haaland in the summer.

The 21-year-old is also rumoured to have a clause in his contract, which will make his release clause go up to €75m (€100m, my add per new info from Bild) from the 2022 season. Many European powerhouses are in the race to sign the Norwegian sensation, and there is a minimal possibility that the teams will wait until the 2022 season.

Borussia Dortmund’s sporting Director had his saying regarding the matter (via Welt ) “If Haaland decides to leave us, he could only join a very small number of teams. But we’ll try to keep him as long as we can.”

Currently, Dortmund is in the 5th position in the league table and fights for the 4th and final spot in the UCL. If Dortmund fails to qualify for the UCL, Haaland’s chances of staying at Dortmund will go down significantly.

Ever since the election of a new board, there has been optimism amongst the Culés across the globe to land the dream signing of Haaland. Laporta’s board knows that it will be a complicated signing due to the club’s delicate financial situation. However, the world knows about the excellent ties Laporta has with the top agents across Europe, a thing he would look to count on to land this fantastic signing.

Alongside Barca, Manchester City and Real Madrid are in the race to acquire the Dortmund striker’s services. Given both the Spanish giants’ financial conditions, it’s a no-brainer that City is the only club that can complete the transaction in a heartbeat. However, we have seen window behave notoriously in the past, and given the pulling power of the two Spanish clubs, we are definitely in for a high-stakes battle.

Once you include the agent fee for Mino Raiola, you're looking probably close to 200 million just to sign Haaland. Are clubs willing to pay that much this summer? They can wait till his release clause kick in next year and have a lower price and then use that price difference to pay for Raiola's fee.

Doubt anyone willing to pay €200m in this current pandemic.

Haaland is eager to come to Real Madrid

The Norwegian knows that the Madrid club is the ideal for his career, a team that plays attack with creators like Modric and Kroos to give him measured passes. The operation can be: 120 million for Borussia, 30 for Raiola and 10 for the father

lol

Luka Modrić  is soon (right at the start of the season) 36 years old and has been in decline since the 2018 WC

I think every conceivable star would have to align perfectly for us to have a shot at Haaland considering how many big clubs are in desperate need for a top class #9. Think it would maybe take a Hazard sort of scenario where we win the CL this season to prove to him that we can take him to an even higher level.

Feels weird to say after so many years of Barca & Real Madrid hoovering up the top players, but I don’t think we’d have to worry about them for a while. Aren’t both still in dire financial shape due to COVID? Juve and Bayern never spend this sort of cash on a single player so can’t see them being in play.

What sucks is our two biggest rivals for him are the Manchester clubs. And it would surely be extremely difficult to turn down City if they make a big play for him. Liverpool may also be a sneaky club interested. Firmino has dipped and doesn’t score much anymore.

Whichever PL club gets him is instantly the title favorite I think. And if we don’t get him the club I’d least want to see him end up at is fucking Man United. The media would be unbearable. Let’s hope they blow their load on Sancho instead.

That went well last time with Hazard, didn't it? We won the Champions League, signed him and then only got past the Round of 16 once in like 8 years.

Not saying they will make the move but Juventus literally committed a lot of money to sign Ronaldo. Around 100 million plus the obscene amount of wages.

Liverpool won't have the money unless someone else is kind enough to take Salah or Mane off them.

How come they're linked with the likes of Haaland and Mbappe? Weird stuff, considering their debt being ridiculously high😂
