This is a sign of a top class coach. He knows that Jorginho is not press-resistant so he chose to go with Kante and Kovacic. I'm pleased with the line-up, the only thing I don't like is Tammy starting.

I am pretty sure Jorgi is getting rested for Atleti.

Come now mate, the games are coming thick and fast, the dude been here for 3weeks or so, new team and league etc, surely we are not pissing all over him already.

It isn’t lack of movement. It isn’t that we are static. Our decision making in the final third is simply championship level atm.

People said we shouldn't judge Lampard after 18 months at the club but the same people now want to judge Tuchel after only 1 month into the job. 🤣

With Timo looking sharper lately what better player is there to have playing those signature diagonal balls for him to run onto than Ziyech? Especially against a Southampton team that will leave space behind since they like to press.

I'm a Ziyech fan, but he had a stinker against Barnsley. I agree that he is a much better player than Mount, but look at it from the coach's point of view. If a player doesn't perform when given a chance, he doesn't warrant a start. I would've loved Ziyech to play today instead of Mount though, especially against Southampton.

Ziyech is a different kind of player that should get better when he plays more often, which he does not currently. Some players, especially those players that are good passers, need game time to get sharp. Guys like Pulisic have it easier because their style of play is more based on dribbling and speed, while Ziyech's gameplay is more about smart plays for his teammates

That could also be a possibility, it remains to be seen. Atleti is a team that sit back, so he is perfect for that game. What your saying makes sense, but only time will tell.

Alonso has officially taken Chilwell's spot.....🤣

Never ever thought I'd see that....rightfully so though.

Alonso has always been a very good LWB, his stats when he plays there do not lie. The problem however is that too many people got caught up on his lack of pace (which is more of an issue in a back 4 admittedly) and he got scapegoated.

He got scapegoated.. !!!??!?!?

He was abysmal in a back 4... absolutely atrocious.. let's not forget how bad this clown was and was rightly dropped by Frank.

And people got caught up with Alonso's lack of pace? I swear we are trying to be the only big side in Europe that plays with a slow, snail-paced LB/LWB.

Personally, I think it is quite clear that SFL was very poor tactically at instructing the team what to do without the ball. Further, as I stated in a back 4 he is a bit of an issue but if you want to pin it all on Alonso, then fair enough.

His lack of pace, positional awareness and laziness on the ball had nothing to do with Frank's tactical instructions. Alsonso was failing to do the very basics in football... those basics you are taught as a kid. Also, who said we I was pinning 'it all' on him?? What is 'it all' and when did I pin it?

Think we should reserve judgement on the Alonso “resurgence” until after we play a couple of quality opponents who can exploit his weaknesses. He’s had a pretty stress free run of games so far.

TT will likely play Giroud and rest Tammy.

thankfully it is the other way round. giroud is a better fit for atleti and tammy for today

other than that, i think our left defensive side with azpi and reece is a bit too much safety first while the right with alonso and rüdiger is way too YOLO

After all the criticism I gave Mount, he better perform👀 I'm gonna keep my eye on his performance.
