We scored double digits goals after set pieces this season.

I should have probably pointed out corners specifically. We've been dire for a number of weeks, 20 corners against Plymouth being the most recent example.

He’s such an awkward yet elegant player simultaneously. When he receives the ball when running at full speed he seems to control it perfectly. He’s an awesome counter attacking player. But when he receives the ball while in a standing position and has to try to beat a defender he looks as though he’s going to fall over every time.

He looks like a guy who had a massive growth spurt overnight and isn’t used to his body or something.

Maybe his best performances for us since the CL final. Could have scored more but what was most important was his intensity. he pressed a lot and with success, he was always ready and willing to receive the ball, run at high pace and look for his chances. also not disheartened by his early miss. Also did not step into his usual trap of looking too cool and not contributing much. Was an all-action display. If he keeps this up we can finally say he turned a corner and looks the player we paid 80m for.

He’s got this weird inability to strike a football with power. In general I mean, not specifically this match.

Very much like Kovacic, it’s very strange that such super technically gifted footballers can’t strike the ball well. Every time Kai has a shot from distance it seems to be a soft roller across the ground that harmlessly gets to the keeper.

Needs to add this skill to his game to ascend to the next level and become a truly elite striker.

That’s not quite true. He scored a goal for Leverkusen vs inter in the el once that shaved the goalies balls off

also his high effort from an angle today looked powerful enough

Fine tune the finishing, add some consistency and a real ruthless streak - no doubt he will be a top player. Only one game tonight, after well, watching a hapless donkey at the weekend so the barometers not exactly very high and anything would look better.

Lets see how he does next game. And the next and the next. Needs to build a run of matches.

Brilliant performance. Top header he scored also. Worked his socks off, his pressing as well as his all round play was brilliant. I hope this move gives Lukaku a nudge and motivates him to step his game up and makes him realise what his replacement did tonight, is what he should be doing a lot more for us. His acceleration off the ball or in counter attacking situations is really impressive.

If a nudge is needed for a 100M player " a top striker " based on someone else performance then there is something wrong with the player himself. :(

I’m talking more outside the box or strikes from distance. He is a huge threat once he gets into the box but even right in the edge of the box he doesn’t have a go often enough.
