tbf he was the exact same player at 26. his hold up play was not that good and he was a tad faster but still not very quick. i guess we can keep him around another year and he still will be the same player. his game is not about pace and other than that he is as physically fit as one can be.

i think both are ultimatley not good enough for the highest calibre of games and over a whole season but Giroud also was not as good at holding up and link up play when he was 22 as he is now.

he was a quite prolific goalscorer back in the day

these are his totals from age 24 to 30 or so

he carried Montpellier to the Ligue 1 title in 2011/12 (the tile clinching game was CRAY, delayed due to riots, etc)

6 seasons 125 goals with quite a few games missed due to some injuries
