I don’t think it is controversial to say Pogba is a better player than Mount, I think the English media are way too down on Pogba. United is a shit show, I think if he was at City or somewhere else he would be rated better.

Mount has only two seasons at top level experiences, he has a lot to prove still. I am fine with where he is at so far in his career. We will see if he has another gear.

not anymore I truly fear

thank fuck they are held back somewhat by Ole and a lack of a class DMF, lack of depth at CF (as Cavani is too old to play every game or even most, and they want to ship Martial out) and not a lot of depth at CMF (Fred is meh, van de Beek a bust so far)

if they added Dušan Vlahović or Dominic Calvert-Lewin at CF

and any of these DMFs

Declan Rice
Aurélien Tchouaméni
Eduardo Camavinga (although I think they would still try and ad a cruncher and use Camavinga more as a box to box, this sorting them at CMF)
Rúben Neves
Kalvin Phillips
Tomas Soucek
Boubacar Kamara
Wilfred Ndidi

they are simply a great manager away from being a top 5 or 6 club in world level atm, and may be there even with Ole at the wheel

A yikes performance today, he is so frustrating and I’m concerned he will just be more favoured as a work horse, rather than for meaningful end product.

He was ok today, Great awareness to zip it into RJ for the goal

TT said everyone wasnt very sharp, They havent had much rest to be fair

Let's be realistic. That wasn't great awareness. It was a blindingly obvious pass that we all saw before the ball even reached Mason and I'm sure he was knew it was on at least as quickly as we did. Credit where it's due but let's not over egg it.

I'm glad the manager is talking sense. Of course this isn't news because he always does. I was very surprised at the gushing praise heaped on our performance by the Match of The Day pundits so I came here looking for some more sober judgements. There are a few of these of course but I do think that some people are more pleased about what they saw today than TT was.

I fear we might have another Willian situation with Mount long term, his work rate is undisputed but he definitely leaves you wondering would a better quality player produce more in his place? Against smaller teams I will definitely start Ziyech or Werner they bring more to the attacking table than Mount.

Yes, I'm afraid Mason hasn't shaken off off the nearly man tag he acquired in my assessment. I can't see TT wanting to be without Mason's workrate as long as he is working with his current squad. Delivering that, as well as more precision in key moments, is a very high bar but that's an important aspect of what TT needs now.

Well the ball for Lukaku was good awareness and should have been another assist, however Leno made a great save.

Genuinely surprised about this. He is criticized for his creativity. He laid the ball of crisply for James. That is as good as a pass you can receive. There have been many moments where players maybe pass the ball with a bit too much force. Just watching the highlights again and the pass was excellent. Think he deserves more praise.

Open play assist for James goal, @NikkiCFC where you at? Red Cafe talking about Pogba?

Bar a Leno save from Lukaku and Havertz mistiming his jump from another good cross, could have easily got 3 assists today with better finishing/luck…… So for a bad game by sounds of reactions on here, 1 assist on top of considering that most days he probably would of gotten at least one more (Leno save top drawer tbf) and perhaps a third, not bad…

Harsh.

You mention realism, We are at the top of the table and we bossed that game. Mount was good and I have to disagree with your assesment of him.

He has everything and with lukaku, much like werner i think they will produce this season.

Most teams in this league would take mount anyday

hes miles better than grelish who cost 100m!!

Werner should be no where near the small sides and their low block. It should be Pulisic/Lukaku/Ziyech.

I'd argue that with the distraction of lukaku, our wide players will come into it this season

Depends what formation and starting 11 TT ends up sticking with.

With the pace he could well be our super sub

I'd rather Pulisic who can actually take players on.
