Great performance from the big man today.

He's really getting better at shithousery this season, the Atletico game and today being the prime examples. 😆

A warrior and a leader - exactly what we needed. That block tackle on Foden was immense. I also got some huge Ramos vs Salah 2019 vibes from his block on KDB but it obviously was unintentional. You need some real bad luck to break you eye socket on a someone's shoulder. Probably needs a bony one like Toni's lol.

Never would have imagined when i saw that clumsy lanky kid first play for Stuttgart concede a penalty and get red carded in one of his first games that he once would be a champions league winner. Incredible.

Chelsea set to offer star contract extension to fend off Tottenham interest

https://www.caughtoffside.com/2021/06/02/Chelsea-to-offer-rudiger-new-contract-to-fend-off-tottenham/

Chelsea are set to offer Antonio Rudiger a lucrative contract extension, which has prompted Tottenham to abandon their pursuit of the German international, according to Football Insider.

Rudiger, who was shunned by Frank Lampard during his time in charge at Stamford Bridge, was brought back into the fold by Thomas Tuchel, and what a superb decision it proved to be.

The former AS Roma defender was imperious throughout Chelsea’s Champions League winning campaign, making one of the tackles of the season to deny Phil Foden a certain goal in the final.

He now appears to have earned himself a new deal, with Football Insider reporting that Chelsea are set to offer him an extension to his current contract, which is due to expire next summer.

The report notes that Spurs were interested, keen to take advantage of his precarious contract situation, but have now given up hope of signing the 28-year-old, who looks set to stay at Chelsea.

He was close to leaving the club if you think about it - I was one of those who considered him 5th choice behind the other centre-backs but kudos to him - first for staying even though Frank was pushing him out and for his performances in the second half of the season.

Frank was pushing not only him but Jorginho and Azpi as well. He dropped them all. And now they are all in 23 best CL players. Kante is best in double pivot, he did not used him there. Kai and Timo not on this list but played out of position as well. Kudos for Mount and Chilwell.

top 3 outfield players

Kante

Mbappe (Håland loaded up versus shit team, Mbappe was insane versus Barca and Bayern, in his first 3 games v them, 6 goals, and Lewa only scored 5 all CL)

Rudiger

best GK, Mendy, not even close, he kept 9 clean sheets, tying an all-time record for any CL in history
