N'Golo Kante

Here is an analysis on Monday Night Football tonight about the Jorginho/Kante situation.

The transcript is below:

Ginola thinks we are wrong to play him in his new position and has praised his influence on the French team in his natural role.

Carragher thinks Kante looks "a very average player in the position he is playing in now."

They have discussed ways of getting the best out of him. Do agree to an extent too.

Carragher is spot on though imo. I rarely think going into a game that we have a star player in Kante in the new position. And I don't see that changing because I don't see him ever being that type of attacking player. This is me scrutinizing virtually every game we have played. He looks really ordinary. I love Kante too but he looks far from a player whose earning a near £300k p/w. And while I agree he is no way near the same quality due to a shift in position I think he needs to adapt more and have more influence on the game. Especially when he is earning the amount he is.

thanks for sharing and it is an interesting problem in the current system.

On the other hand, I think it is literally Sarri's job to find the better system and formation for the player he has, not the other way around. I do not believe Kante can be as effective in attack as he is defending. It's simply not in his toolbox.

The unbeaten run masked a few problems in the team, the Kante position was one of them.

If we are to continue playing him and Jorginho then we need a slight tweak of formation/tactics.

Sarri will not change, it was a problem in Napoli as well.

We either get him the players for Sarriball or he will be sacked.

We will not get him the players, especially if we get a 2 year transfer ban and Eden walks.

So, he will probably be sacked. If the bans hit and Eden goes in the summer, I predict October 2019.

Worst case scenario: we do not buy shit in January, and implode in the new year, I then predict an April or May Sarri sack. Roman is a scapegoater (unfortunately not with the cunt Marina) with a hair trigger pull.

Its a good thing we have mostly weak teams we face until early mid January.

heh Marina works under Roman and does his bidding. Can't imagine her with that much leverage considering how Roman runs the club.

All managers get sacked in a season or two.

Don't think Eden leaving will have that much impact to be honest (too inconsistent for me esp in CL), and think the club will be fine either way. Yes, unless we add some quality we won't compete in the PL, but with hazard we do NOT compete in CL anyway.

that is madness, plus, if we DO get the 4 window, 2 year ban, and add no one in January, we are fucked, far from fine. Eden leaves, CHO probably too, and we are stuck for 2 whole years with a old and somewhat broken team.

well to be fair, a 2-window ban would fuck up any club... :)

Sarri will have to play Kante along side Jorginho and in a withdrawn role else dont play him because he doesnt bring value if played in an advanced role. Also Jorginho needs to start pushing more up, i know it isnt the way Sarri wants but we need to get the best out of the 2.

Seeing Barley in a good run, he should have moved for

        Barley

Jorginho - Kante

I hope we dont end up doing what Jose is doing at United!!!

Sarri has to find a way to get the best out of the team by playing to their strengths.

N'Golo Kante and Jorginho the answer for Chelsea, says Danny Higginbotham

Makes sense to me , nice 1 Mr Bottom , hope Sarri takes note

So he is saying a 4 2 1 3? Sarri wont do it. At least he has always refused to do it. Barkley would truly have to be a beast then too. Obviously Isco or Kai Havertz or another truly WC AMF would make it far more potent.

it kinda sucks that our manager is not flexible at all. no plan b

Not going to lie, posts like this are slightly embarrassing. People wanted a change in style from Conte. We got one with Sarri. It's not perfect but if he wants to build a team in his image he needs to do it, no point half arsing it. Did Pep have a plan B? Did Klopp? No they play there way and that's it. Conte had a plan B, lump it long to Giroud/Morata but apparently that was outdated and we should be playing attacking football, now we have a manager who's trying to do that and now he's not flexible enough.. some of you guys never cease to amaze me. It's a process. Takes time. Few players need replaced. Give the guy a chance. Swear some folk just cause a stir because they've fuck all else to do.

idk if you are serious or not but pep uses different lineups and formations every few games, especially last season and the season before. klopp has changed his style this season from the tactics he had last season. it's pretty obvious.
