Magic Lamps 11,692
If he only plays a half-decent Euro he should get that Balon d'Or. He definitely should get Europe's player of the year as that is usually very CL-centric. Would be time for a defensive midfielder to win it. Vesper 30,185
the way I see it, he needs to have a big Euro and Lewandowski needs to not star fucking sucks that Lewa got robbed via it not being awarded last year, as that would take away some voter's rationale to do a 'make up' vote killer1257

OneMoSalah 8,886
Tbf if France have a good Euros he has to be in the top 3 at least and surely will win it? Luka Modric won it after having a good world cup for Croatia as well as winning the CL so thats the target for Kante. I dont think it will even be as easy as that though because normally attacking players always seem to be higher voted so we will see. hace 1 hora, Magic Lamps dijo: When Bayern won the pretend CL last year they demanded Lew to win the balon so often and loudly that in the end fifa were so unnerved they actually gave him world footballer. maybe it will work again Pretend CL 😂 Lewandowski definitely deserved it last season though, 55 goals in 47 games. Was an incredible season. He will probably be in the running again and deservedly so as he has 48 goals in 40 games this season.

If Kante has a good Euro's scores a goal or two and France win it, I reckon he may have a good chance. The thing he has on his side is that everyone loves him. If your voting and are 55 to 45 Lewa v Kante you probably will still give Kante the vote because he is adorable.

Vesper 30,185
Kante’s Ballon d’Or hopes, the England trio and Werner’s search for goals: Why Chelsea fans should care about the Euros https://theathletic.com/2624490/2021/06/04/kante-england-trio-werner-scoring-touch-Chelsea-fans-euros/ Still revelling in being Kings of Europe again, Chelsea supporters could be forgiven for feeling a bit indifferent about the other festival of continental football that UEFA has in store over the next few weeks. But if you want a reason to care about the belated arrival of Euro 2020, look no further than the man of the match in Porto. N’Golo Kante’s masterclass at the Estadio do Dragao seemed to remind much of the football world of his unique and enduring brilliance, sparking calls for him to be recognised with the Ballon d’Or at the end of the season. Being the best player on the pitch twice against Real Madrid and then against Manchester City gives him a strong case regardless, but powering Euros favourites France to further international glory would surely make it undeniable. Olivier Giroud will also surely have a big role to play in any French success if his prominence to date under Didier Deschamps is anything to go by. France won’t be the only leading contender with a distinct Chelsea flavour. Their first match in Group F is a heavyweight clash in Munich with a Germany side that should include Champions League final hero Kai Havertz, the masked Antonio Rudiger and Timo Werner, the latter of whom will be compulsive viewing if only to find out whether a change of strip and scenery can help him overcome the most prolonged confidence crisis of his career in front of goal. Are we including England in the list of potential winners? It feels unduly pessimistic not to do so, given the vibrant array of talent at Gareth Southgate’s disposal. He can also call upon three newly-minted Champions League winners in Mason Mount, Reece James and Ben Chilwell, all of whom have a strong case to make his starting XI regardless of formation. The only concern for Chelsea supporters will be the danger of Mount finally reaching the limit of his body’s capacity for high-intensity football off the back of two relentless seasons of being considered indispensable by Frank Lampard and then Thomas Tuchel. One of the eternal pleasures of watching a summer international tournament is getting a closer look at your club’s most tantalising transfer targets. Romelu Lukaku will hardly be a novel viewing experience for Chelsea supporters, but if Roman Abramovich’s attempts to bring him back to Stamford Bridge this summer gather pace, there should be plenty of interest in seeing whether he can build on the momentum of a Serie A title-winning campaign with Inter that yielded 24 goals. Chelsea fans will watch Timo Werner with interest (Photo: Boris Streubel/Getty Images) Roberto Martinez’s loaded Belgium squad offer plenty of other reminders of Chelsea past and present, with Thibaut Courtois, Kevin De Bruyne, Eden Hazard, younger brother Thorgan and Michy Batshuayi all involved. The elder Hazard in particular would be a sight to warm the hearts of many at Stamford Bridge if he manages to recapture his old magic and shine in the tournament, having endured a nightmare two seasons since his “dream” move to Real Madrid in the summer of 2019. Cesar Azpilicueta was busy making holiday plans for the summer when he received his surprise call-up by Luis Enrique to a Spain squad utterly devoid of Real Madrid players. Now a Champions League-winning captain, he has an opportunity to complete a dream few weeks by playing a key role in winning the first senior international honour of his illustrious career. If they are to walk away with the trophy, however, Alvaro Morata will need to show more ruthlessness than he displayed for much of his time at Stamford Bridge. Scotland will have more modest aspirations in their first major tournament appearance since the 1998 World Cup, but their involvement alongside England in Group D will be livened up considerably if Chelsea legend Steve Clarke entrusts control of his midfield to the prodigiously talented Billy Gilmour. Wales will also be far more watchable in a difficult Group A if Ethan Ampadu is given the opportunity to get a difficult loan spell at Sheffield United out of his system. Those of you suffering “double six” withdrawal will still be able to catch Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic calmly pulling the passing strings for Italy and Croatia. Denmark’s defence will be anchored by the equally unflappable Andreas Christensen. And then there are the slightly quirkier dashes of Chelsea influence: a 37-year-old Yuri Zhirkov still somehow running down the left flank for Russia, and an Andriy Shevchenko — only seven years his senior — preparing to navigate a wide-open Group C in his first major tournament as a coach in charge of Ukraine. In many respects, Euro 2020 is an inconvenient exertion for top players feeling the effects of long, arduous club seasons with precious few breaks. Chelsea are particularly entitled to feel that way, having strained every sinew until the end of May to win the biggest prize in club football. But once the football begins, their players should still contribute plenty to the spectacle.
