This is the same person who had/has an allegiance with Juventus, having played there for almost his entire career as a player and managed them as well, but then went to manage their arch rivals Inter Milan. 

I don't even understand why people are bitter he could manage another PL team, he managed us for just 2 seasons it's not like was here for 10 years, I'm ok with him going to Spurs better there than United.

Even Jose managed United and even players like Cole, Van Persie, etc joined the club rivals. no problem with that

The problem is that Tottenham will going to be a real threat to us. This is a real problem

True. There are two types of manager when it comes to this really. You have one type who sees football as a business and will just go manage whoever regardless of whether they have a rivalry and then you have another type who develops a special emotional connection with a club and will never go manage their arch rivals. The examples for each type are pretty clear.

I mentioned this last week and it was pretty much laughed off but looking very possible now.

It probably won't be a long term appointment and could end badly but his coaching and tactical ability is first class.

He'd be just about the last person I want going there.

Nothing wrong with wanting a successful manager but it seems like Levy has gone off the rails or has become somewhat desperate. First Mourinho and now supposedly Conte. He wants all these high profile, short term managers but doesn't have the financial power and adequate group of players to actually achieve immediate success.

Spurs in the last 2 seasons are over 200m in net spend so not sure why some of you think they wont spend? Conte showed before he can do miracles. First thing is to fix that defense.

Where did you get that amount?

In 2019/20, Spurs' net spend was -€84 million and in 2020/21, their net spend was -€97.2 million. Plus in the middle of that, a pandemic blew up in everyone's faces and Levy now also have to pay back for that new stadium of theirs.

It's not that Spurs can't or won't spend but the question is, how much can they really spend to satisfy someone like Conte? Conte spent ages moaning about the lack of spending or the club not backing him with big transfers here and at Juventus and Inter Milan. And we expect Spurs and Levy, of all teams/people, to suddenly spend big? This is the same Levy who went an entire season without spending a penny, which led to their downturn and Pochettino getting the boot. Conte may be able to work miracles but he can only do it for so long and he can only take it for so long before he wants to spend, spend and spend.
