The Mourinho Thread

Here's a question for everybody: If Jose is to return here, how much power would you give him? Obviously over the first team training and squad selection. But would you give him authority over the youth academy? Transfers? Medical staff? Player contracts?

Transfers, Player contracts.

I don't think it is as simple as that. Jose had almost complete control at Inter, and he completely f***ed them up before leaving. He gave the majority of the aging squad there, like Zanetti, Milito, Cambiasso, Stankovic...etc new long-term contracts on ridiculously high wages. Inter were left with a squad that on the fast decline while being unable to afford to replace any of the players.

Fucked them ? Not really, they still finished second the season after, and now they have to rebuild, next year they'll compete again, that's for sure.If José can win us the treble, i will give a shit about the age of the squad or the wages, we are paying Nando how much ? We have a young team compared to the Inter Milan's one, younger that the Chelsea 2004-2007, we have talent, we have a project to play good football, and to win titles. If José comes he'll have a squad that is hungry for titles, ready to fight, and with some experienced player. He wont make too much changes, we need a top defender, two top midfielders, and one striker, of course i'm talking about experienced & confirmed players. Its is simple in our case, we have money, we have ambitions, we just need good decisions to make that happen.

We need stability - so let's hire the guy who doesn't stay at clubs for more than 4 years and give him complete control like Sir Alex has (ignoring the fact that Sir Alex didn't win anything for 5 years). When you say stability, how many years of that are you actually talking?

So we give him control of the academy? Why? Are they not doing well enough? Are we not seeing players starting to come through and develop better? It's perfectly feasible (to me) that we could kick off the next season with Courtois, Azpi, Bertrand Chalobah, De Bruyne, Oscar, Mata, Hazard, Lukaku, Moses and maybe Piazon in the first-team squad. That's almost half the squad under the age of 24 who arrived at the club through scouting other clubs or developed internally. We suffered because we didn't do the right things from about 2004 to 2010 - who was in charge for half of that?

And what happens if he leaves after a couple of seasons? Where's the continuity in the club? Or do we rip everything up and start again with another manager?

People always throw up examples like Fergie, but the guy is an anomaly.

Give me a manager capable of staying more than three years at Chelsea Football Club !

Five years, I'd give José five years here, and maybe more after some trebles <_< Give me one manager capable of winning us titles, playing with the youth at times, and satisfy Roman.I'm waiting.

José Mourinho last decade had objectives, to win everywhere, he said, that he feels its time to stay at a club a long time and i think he would perfectly fit in our project, i think it is simple, when you sack that much, its time see if the team is doing well, at at times our group of players clearly lack motivation, due to a permanent change of ideas, objectives, and philosophy.

What happens if he leaves in a couple of years ? That wont happen if he wins titles, we are now established as a top european club, the club's position is totally different to the one that José left. He'll have more time, more patience, and of course i have no doubts that he'll bring instant success. And before talking about his departure, lets sign him !

Yes he completely fucked them, and this is not my own opinion, but the opinion of most Inter fans. It's extremely hard to rebuild when you're paying insane amounts of wages for players who can't play at the highest level. To put in perspective, if I remember correctly, last season Inter had the biggest wage bill in Europe and they were a Europa league mid-table team. If that's not fucked up, I don't know what is.

My intention was not to compare directly our team to Inter's as it is obvious the same thing won't happen here, but I wanted to point out that it's not as simple as giving him power over everything. Jose might be a phenomenal manager, but what do you know about his negotiation, scouting, business..etc abilities?

That is waht i wanted to see.

I know that José wins titles everywhere, and we have a rich owner who wants exaclty that but want to win with style, i dont care as a fan about the wages, if they are paying Nando & Hazard that much, so they probably have (the directors & roman ) a lot of money to spend.

Yeah that's the problem. Supporters don't want to care about wages and financial stuff, they just want the biggest most expensive names out there. But when we end up in EL because we can't afford to get good players anymore because we did not manage our money well before, then you'd care!

Oh no, no i stop you here. Most of fans dont want big names, they want more of mata's and less of Nando's if you understand what i mean, most of fans cant really know the club's financial situation, because its a very complicated subject, we have a board, they care about that, we ended up in Europa League because we were not good, not because of our financial problems.

Nothing against you or anything but how the hell do people know that? Do his housekeepers use twitter?

Well, it says "accordning to marca" and as Marca is one of spains biggest newspapers they might get their hands on this kind of information.
