The Mourinho Thread

What's the point in risking in players? We're not going to beat the FA this season so again, what's the point?

Because we still have a strong enough side to win even with these injuries.

You never know what'll happen in this league. We beat Liverpool and win our last two and maybe Liverpool choke it away against Palace and whoever else. I'd rather us not just roll over and give up a game.

Interesting post match comments from Mourinho. Basically said he'll field a B-team unless Roman overrules it and then went on about how he's only the manager and nothing more. I don't know. Something unsettling about those comments. Hope there aren't any internal problems.

Mourinho wanted the 0-0 and we got it. Decent result, but an away goal would've been worth a 2-1 defeat. This stat doesn't transpire much confidence should Atletico score:

@RichJolly 1h

Chelsea's CL semi-final scores under Mourinho: 0-0, 0-1, 1-0, 0-1, 0-0. 1 goal scored in 480 minutes (inc extra time).

Hope you're right. Hopefully Roman isn't becoming over-controlling. That was the impression I got from those comments, but probably just another one of Mourinho's mind games.

I believe Roman has learnt his lesson at last ,, He is a good owner but a fucking awful scout

Aye - when I worked with the lads who make Football Manager - we created a 'Roman' filter - most expensive player with the worst stats ;) it never made it into production tho ;) - too much of a hot potato ;) was funny though

Read that it sounds like he's flirting with the United job with those quotes, ("I'm not the most important person at the club. I do what the club decides.") hmm...

Yup, prior to that we made some really shrewd buys under 'Tinker Man' :)

Since Roman arrived our scouting network went to shit... I just want Traore to step up next year he was a beast in pre-season... Exactly the player we need.

I'd love us to sign an 'unknown' striker though a la Didier and absolutely rule next season! I mean who thought Suarez would be this good? Fc king Liverpool always find brilliant strikers... Rush, Aldridge (Rush look alike), Fowler... Sigh :)

Maybe he's using whatever interest Utd might have as a bargaining tool to strengthen his position at the club? Hope so.

The whole thing was just so weird..... "I'm only the manger, I do whatever Roman Abramovich wants". What's that all about?

We should have attacked! Especially without our 2 best attackers from the start and our best midfielder cup tied. And when our keeper and best CB went off injured we should have poured forward! Then we could have attacked more in the second leg, to try and turn the 3-0 defeat around.

Mourinho clearly doesn't have a Scooby-Doo's what he's doing. He's completely clueless and must be sacked for gross incompetence!!

Where did you find that gem? No names? Do confess if you posted this. Freakin' arm-chair gaffers nope.gif

This. I wish we could do that for a change

With so many players unavailable, Mourinho will have big decisions to make regarding team selection for Sunday's game at Liverpool.

'I can't decide by myself, that's a decision where I have to listen to the club. I'm just a piece, the manager and no more than that. The fact the match is on Sunday puts the problem not in my hands, but the hands of the people who decide the game should be played on Sunday, not Saturday or Friday. We represent English football, we are the only English team in Europe. Spain has four teams and gives them all the conditions to have success.'

Any thoughts about those quotes?

Seems to be venting about everything that pisses him off recently. In this interview he appeared angry at the FA's reluctance to move fixtures to support teams in the CL, and also at Chelsea's hierarchy, which might suggest things are already going awry between him and the board? Interesting quotes but difficult to infer from them.

I don't think he is pissed at the board. It's more asking them if they think we should try and beat Liverpool or just focus 100% on the Champions League.

But don't you think his comments - "I'm not the most important person at the club. I do what the club decides" - particularly in the angry mood he's been in has a lot more to it than what you're saying?

I think he is just being realistic. The club is his employer. If they want him to go all out against Liverpool then he will have to go all out against Liverpool, but it is clear that José wants to focus 100% on the CL.
