To blame anybody individually is just plain arrogant. Blame the whole team for today´s shitty performance, that would be appropriate. Jose better wake up soon & choose his team to play regularly. Otherwise, these wholesale changes are leading nowhere.

I think other players let themselves down, but in terms of the tempo of the performance I think you get something different when you select Mata over Oscar and I think that has an impact on the players around the number 10 (which is pretty much everyone because it's such an important position in our system.

Oscar knots together the defence, midfield and attack when he plays that role. He drops deep to pick the ball of the defence, he knocks it around the pivot and he pops up behind and alongside the striker. When you change the person doing that job, you change the relationship every player has with one another.

It wasn't the only reason we underperformed today, but I think it was one of the major ones.

But that's just my opinion - I might have an agenda. Or I might have used the word agenda....once. Or someone I know used the word agenda...or maybe the word gender. Who knows?

You think Mata just decided by himself he won't go back and get the ball from defence? something he did so many times last season.

For a player who has been in and out of the team like he has, he will act strictly on Mourinho's orders.

Mourinho wants him to defend, he does. Mourinho wants him on the right 1 minute and middle the other, he does that. Mourinho wants him to stay further up the pitch when Luiz and Terry are knocking it around, he does that.

well, I doubt any Chelsea fan could possibly be having a good day today after that, unless they met the love of their lives (or had a great time with the already found ones), won the lottery, or something to that effect

Well my eyes disagree with your stats. Can you tell me how many times Oscar touched the ball between minute 55 and 80? Because I literally remember one. Unlike Oscar, Mata and Hazard were trying to make things happen; Mata with passes and Eden with attempted dribbles. Both the chances that you are talking about were in the last 10 minutes when he decided to wake up after it was way too late. Of course he had more touches on the ball than Mata who played 35-40 minutes less than him.

Oscar played only 34 minutes more than Mata.

Oscar had 18 passes in those 25 minutes (55-80), 12 of which completed. Compared to when Mata was in the pitch, Oscar had only twice (37) from 0-60 minutes, meaning he took more responsibility when Mata was subbed off.

But if you compare where Oscar was passing to Hazard and Mata, you'll realize he was more in the third final than Mata was, Hazard the most of them.

Oscar: 45,37% (actions, not only passes)

Mata: 34,33% (actions, not only passes)

Hazard: 56,80% (actions, not only passes) In addition of showing his passes, I'm showing his take-ons (which should include his dribbles)

And finally the heat maps, showing among other things Mata was too deep. We should have played him closer to Hazard (who was most time in the third final) and Torres. (I'm not blaming Mata, he was going back in an attempt to fill the gap our terrible pivot left)

edit: also the performance score shows you that Oscar was one of the 'best' out there, with 21... and that's different than whoscored ridic rating. This is summing up all scores in all actions they take - something similar to what I do in my scouting except they subtract the negative from the positive.

Why we lost ...In one word Complacency ...or you could say Arrogance ....the 1st half was so easy for us ,, We assumed the goals and win would come automatically.

When the Barcodes realised we werent putting in 100 % they gained confidence and were by far the best team in the second half..

I was too pissed at some points to really pay enough attention all while doing the report for Chelsea Brasil that needed to be published within 10 minutes from the end of the match. So I spent most of the match taking notes and being pissed or frustrated. I need to re-watch it clinically - although I don't feel like that will be a good experience

Charts, stats one may put them....it´s very simple, to me. The whole team was not ready to perform today. Who´s fault is it ?

I do not want to accuse anybody, but if I remember well, Jose is still the coach. One thing I may forgive him, it´s not an easy job to choose players from such a gifted bunch. I believe, he must make his squad of 22 players tops & play them, regularly. These fucking A & B teams scenario are going to under-perform sometimes. Footballers are like a fine tuned racing car, needs to be run, used. Most of today´s players were legged, stale or however one wants to call it. In plain English, not tuned finely.

I think it's more the Mazacar as a trio, two off our best games this season (against Norwich and Steuna) we did well with the Schurrle-Mata-Oscar trio.

Yeah...except those changes would probably be like the obvious ones in Mata, Luiz etc while those have been performing like crap will keep their place..

Mourinho had spoken ahead of the game of the difficulty he would face in choosing a starting 11 following impressive recent performances from his whole squad. Asked if he was happy with his selection today, the manager responded:

'I made 11 mistakes. I should pick the other 11 and not this one, and it's the feeling I have when my team plays so bad. Of course I'm exaggerating because I had some players in good form but the feeling is that I made 11 wrong choices.

And what Mourinho said here is definitely true..

'This season we have played five matches away in the league - I know difficult places, difficult matches - but we have one victory and we have two defeats. It does concern me.'

Part of the reason for that is arguably down to Mourinho's somewhat negative approach against United and Spurs to begin with but really, if we do not start picking up our away league form soon, we won't come close to challenging for the title.
