No, Pedro like Giroud are good subs.

The problem is that in our club they are starting 11. Should be sub, as that is what he was for Barcelona.

Pedro was a main overall starter on most all of those insane Pep and post-Pep Barca teams from 2008-2014

2008-9 was his rookie year, so played only a little, he missed 11 games in 2011-12 due to minor injuries (still produced 19 total goals + assists), but was averaging around 3300-3600 minutes every other year, including 32 and 35 and 32 total goals produced years

he was a monster player, one of my all time favourite Barca players

He was only part time in his last year there, 2014-15, and still played a role in 20 goals (11 goals, 9 assists) in only 2200 minutes

from 2009 to 2015, he averaged almost 27 total goals produced per year, and that was with him basically missing/not playing almost 3/4 of a season's worth of minutes

Eden averaged almost 29 total goals produced per year here over his time, and that was playing hundreds more minutes per year on average, over 1000 more in 2 of those seasons (4441,and 4521 minutes per year), and had another near 4000 minute season too)

Pedro in 2016/17 put up great numbers for us in the limited amount of minutes he played, 25 total goals accounted, which, if he had an Eden higher season level of minutes he would have more than likely ended up with over 40 total (he was 29yo then, so certainly capable of it, IF we had needed him to log that amount)

That's exactly why i'd like to keep him beyond this season (restricted role though obviously). He's the perfect mentor for the young lads due to being in this position (coming through at a major club with huge pressure) himself, among other things. In my opinion he should be retained in the squad until either he wants to go somewhere else for more games or when he gets to the point he can't physically compete at this level even as a squad player.

You keep Pedro in the final throw and he's great. Very dangerous anywhere around the opponents penalty area.

The problem is everywhere else. He tries to do way too much at times. Tries to dribble his way out of trouble too much, tries to jink and juke too much, and he often gives away silly free kicks in our half by being too eager in his tackles.

He's a good weapon to have in our squad but he's got some definite trade offs.

He is like anti Willian.

Chelsea star Pedro could seek transfer away after growing frustrated with reduced role under Lampard

https://www.caughtoffside.com/2019/10/19/chelsea-star-could-seek-transfer-away-after-growing-frustrated-with-reduced-role-under-lampard/

Chelsea winger Pedro is reportedly unhappy with his current predicament at the club, having been forced to sit on the bench at the start of the season.

The Spaniard has been restricted to just three Premier League appearances so far this term, with the likes of Willian, Mason Mount and Callum Hudson-Odoi all ahead of him in the squad pecking order.

Frank Lampard has opted to give a few younger players the chance to shine since he was appointed as Chelsea’s new head coach, with the likes of Mount, Hudson-Odoi, Tammy Abraham and Fiyako Tomori all benefitting from his selection policy.

According to Diario Sport, Pedro could seek a transfer away from Stamford Bridge after growing frustrated with his reduced role under Lampard in recent months.

The Spanish publication states that in addition to losing his spot in the starting XI, the 32-year-old’s ex-partner and three children have returned to Spain, putting a strain on his family life.

2nd oldest winger in the EPL (only Aaron Lennon, by 3 months and 2 weeks is older)

I swear we're the only club on the planet who don't have players willing to fight for their place.

It feels like the only non starter who hasn't allegedly or otherwise complained about lack of starts this season is Caballero.

Called entitled. You can't expect much when half of these players have had FOUR different managers at the club.

No one has asked Lampard about Pedro.

Tactical decision. He probably wanted CB on the bench and that's why we had Guehi in the squad. Can you imagine problems when everyone is fit? Let's say for example Kepa, Emerson, Rudiger, Tomori, Azpilicueta, Kante, Jorginho, Mount, Willian, CHO, Abraham starting 11. Willy, Christensen, James, Kovacic, RLC, Pulisic and Michy bench. That leaves Alonso, Zouma, Barkley, Pedro and Giroud out of the squad

I'd imagine Lampard could think of far worse problems than having that level of squad depth.

Pedro's sub performance today should be of no surprise considering how little he's played over the last month or so. But yeah, it does feel like his time is coming to an end here, especially if Willian continue to do what's asked of him by Lampard.

Dude, thanks for everything especially all those important goals in 2016/17 but please get the fuck out of the club asap.

His decline was bizarrely rapid. Seems like after that season he genuinely dropped from an 85 rating to a 70

I've said it a few times but we should be upgrading both Pedro and Willian next summer. Strength in depth is what will move us forward.
