Shame. We spend 2 months chasing this guy last season only to discard him next year.

He was by far the most purely talented defender we have and absolutely unmatched in terms of pressing resistance and looking for passing lanes instead of hoofing the ball. But looks like we're allergic to those traits !

I've seen enough of him to think that he can be classy player. But we're assessing him terminally after he slotted into the worst Chelsea defensive structure in the last 20 years, in the age of barely 21 and without pre-season with the club, joining the club that was already collapsing when he signed. Go figure.

Having said that, I was opposed to signing young full-back in the first place but if we did that why not stick with it longer than this nightmare 12 months for the club ?

We should really still have Filipe here. Doesn't get better than this. Now what ?

Time after time it's purchase, a few cameo roles and back out on loan, this has got to stop quick sharp. We are stock piling more and more shite and the time wasted on bringing these middle of the road players could be used on bringing in real top quality options.

Judging by what we have seen in pre-season so far, I doubt we will be a defensive side under Conte. Being defensive and being defensively solid are two different two things and maybe Conte was referring to the latter to Baba Rahman? Skeptical about the quotes in the article TBH.
