Chelsea's Diego Costa moving closer to Atletico Madrid return; Lukaku to Blues

Atletico Madrid are growing more and more confident of re-signing Diego Costa and are lining up an offer of £40 million, much to Chelsea's displeasure, the Daily Mail claims.

Relations between the clubs are said to be so bad that the Premier League side have threatened to file a complaint with FIFA regarding Atletico's pursuit of the striker. However, Chelsea may have an ace up their sleeve as the Mirror reports that a move to re-sign one of their own former players, Romelu Lukaku, could be in the cards; Everton accepts there is not much more they can do to keep their star at Goodison Park.

The Toffees value Belgium international Lukaku at £75m, but while Chelsea have so far only tabled a £57m offer, which was rejected, it is said the striker has his heart set on a return to Stamford Bridge and the chance to link up with countrymen Eden Hazard, Thibaut Courtois and Michy Batshuayi.

ESPNFC's transfer talk columns are as credible as The Mirror and Goal.com

Think Adidas had something in mind when they posted this recently...

They use the same "blah blah" in every new add, even in Pogbas one. It could mean about transfer talks or haters.

So much for that 6th August deadline that the newspapers were talking about lol.

I'm sure them having Torres, Grease Man, Gameiro, Correa and Borja (who just scored 18 goals in his season for Eibar in la liga), won't stop the rumors though. But it should.

Yeah that "back injury" is starting to sound like BS. Unfortunately it looks increasingly likely that we intend to replace Costa with Lukaku. Can Atleti actually afford Costa after signing Gameiro though?

Thats what i'm thinking. If Lukaku is worth £60m then surely Costa is worth the same if not more...  Atleti haven't got that sort of money

Well i guess i was wrong.

Who the hell will he go to? I can't see A.Madrid affording him even more so after just buying a ST

griezmann swap deal? ..... i can dream...

Could it be his comments got mis-translated? His English isn't perfect after all even if it's good for a non-English speaker.

I don't see what's changed in 1-2 days after he said Costa will stay, especially when the only interested buyer Atletico have bought Gameiro.

Never mind that. How many strikers do Atletico need? Gameiro, Griezmann, Torres, Correa not enough? Adding Costa into that mix would just be overkill.

Last time conte spoke about about the Costa situation he spoke with a lot more confidence.
