MrBlueGuy 1,552
Costa scored 8 goals in 9 Champions League games last season. It was extremely over inflated. 3 were against one of the worst Milan side in their history, 1 against us was a pen, 2 against some Austria team, 1 against a shit Zenit, the other couple were against a average Porto team as well.In fact apart from scoring a couple of time against Madrid, he never actually score that much in all his years there against them. Never scored against Barca too
BlueLyon 9,359
The only thing i dislike about him is his jumping. For someone this size he is absolute shit in air. Never NEVER wins aerial duel with another player even if that other guy is 170cm tall... Barbara
Popular Post! Muzchap 8,966 Posted February 18, 2015 Popular Post! Share Posted February 18, 2015 Does anyone else get annoyed by how often he drifts off to the wing? It's called working the channels and top strikers do it - now I assume as we had FT9 for so long, people are not used to it...The concept is simple, drag one of the Central defenders out of position when you drift out wide and lay the ball back into the oncoming runner - thus creating space, defensive confusion and a goal scoring opportunity. However - it doesn't work if no players run on...Last night was a get match fit night - this Saturday we will see a sharper player.Rubbishing the best Striker we've had in years is not something I'm comfortable with... CurlyHairLikeLuiz 1,625
Oh yeah and to add on from my previous post, what sets Diego apart from almost any striker we've had in the last 10 years with the exception of Didier is he has a love, a desire for the club. Torres was here because he was getting paid £300k per week. Diego gets fired up, every time, while Torres almost accepted his label by the end. Roll on Saturday, he'll score double and you lot will probably praise his linkup play with Cesc and how he psychologically puts off opposition CBs with his physicality:In short, some of you are very impatient people. Costa is just a passionate guy and would show it for whatever team. Doesn't mean he loves the club - not yet anyway! He's not been here that long. For example Luiz Adriado is on like 10 goals this season but 5 were against some terrible CL side in one match or something. He is not where near good enough for us, but looking at stats he would be as good as Messi since they got similar number of goals. Also the Drogba comparison is irrelevance, he scored against MU, Arsenal, Spurs...etc in that season as well. FA Cup winner too.

I am grateful we have him here at Chelsea but sometimes it just looks like he isn't up for it.
Gilvorak 3,734
Torres actually played better in the big games for me. Even his best Atletico performances since his return have been in the big games. Hell, even a 36 year old Drogba has put him to shame. His performances against Totteham/Utd are better than any Diego has had so far. That said bringing up Fernando's awful spell for us is completely irrelevant. Bringing up a striker that's a shell of a player he once was to make Costa look good is beyond pathetic. It's like comparing current Casillas to Mignolet. Costa has been consistently shit in the big games and he isn't even scoring the goals to paper up the cracks either.Torres in his prime, Drogba, Aguero these players consistently impacted the big games. In Costa's case if he's not getting bossed by Mangala/Skrtel, he's getting himself banned for needless stamps or going missing against the Yids.Cahill, Willian, Oscar etc all getting battered on here for less so I don't see why Costa should be exempt from criticism. lionsden
Gilvorak 3,734
This isn't true, sorry. Loads of people have massive short term memory here. Before his ban, Diego's link up and hold up play was excellent. He's just getting back into the swing of things, give him some time...His hold up play was excellent, his link up play was and still is on the other end of the spectrum. It really is dreadful. I remember criticizing it a couple of months back when he was red hot and it's gotten worse if anything. As Lionsden already eloquently stated even Giroud's link up play is miles ahead. Whether it's 1 touch, back to goal, aerial play, decision making, vision etc he destroys him.

Namika 922
I can't believe it, I can't, seriously. Before his ban he was the best and now he can't do shit in big games ? Man shat on Ramos-Pepe multiple times, Simeone risked everything to have him on the pitch for the CL Final, why would he do that if he wasn't good enough in the big game ? Maybe you can teach something about football to Simeone ? Like you do to Mourinho who know nothing about it. LondonsFinest 692
This is spam from me, but after reading posts from people, I am willing to bet my left nut have never been on a regime to which Costa is , and have never played a full 90 minutes on a big pitch, I HAVE SEEN IT ALL.
