just got a thought, what if matic gets injured for december-jan (the busiest of the months probably).

a pivot of fabregas-rambo? fabregas-mvg? rambo-mvg?

if we buy cesc, our system will solely be reliant on matic's fitness and form cos fabregas-rambo pivot looks worse than lamps-rambo and we all know how that turned out.

Chalobah.

If City lose Yaya they're fucked. If Liverpool lose Suarez they're fucked. It's the nature of sport.

Still not convinced that Fabregas is sufficiently good defensively or has a high enough workrate, but if Jose thinks he does then I trust him.

liverpool wint be looking to be PL champions next season. realistically they should be looking to consolidate, keep top 4 and give some CL experience to a very young squad and players like coutinho/sterling/sturridge/henderson blah blah blah...

city has a massive chink in their armor. without YAYA they have been found wanting. wont be suprised if they bring in a new CM and porto's fernando is already being tipped to be the guy!!! but their is a difference between city's dependance on yaya and our dependance on matic. with CM options of matic-cesc, rambo-mvg and chalobah our dependance on matic comes from our options whereas city's dependance on yaya comes from his class and awesomeness!!!

the more i think about this objectively, the more it seems unlikely!!!

@specialjuan... u wanna deal with this BUM or should i?

kdb as a replacement for fabregas/pogba/vidal/koke/witsel...

Not sure, if KDB was ready to be compared to these, but his potential was certainly there. What you think?

Why bother responding to a guy comparing an out and out attacking midfielder to players we're looking to play in midfield?

Well, everyone has potential, I see. Well said. However, that KDB was a bit above, don´t you think?

Exactly. You can't have a top backup for every position. Every club has players that are irreplaceable. I like Fabergas a lot but I like him more with a different manager/different system.

Matic - Fabregas does indeed sound really good.

I am generally not as passionate about certain thoughts that i had 5-6 years ago even if there was bad blood then.

Simply rating Cesc on his ability and the likely partnership with a defensive minded player like matic, and it sets a good balance for that position, and the rest of the team setup as well.

I am glad that as a second option to our defensive 2, we are going for an attacking intelligent option rather than a defensive option again.

We need an attack minded player to be able to do smooth transitions, so either fabregas or a player with those sort of characteristics is what i feel we need,

We dont need another defensive rock next to matic..... we need the transitionary playmaker with a few goals.

Cesc Fàbregas seems to be Chelsea bound. The player may have even had a medical at #CFC last week according to unconfirmed reports. (MARCA)

Yeah, literally every reputable Spanish paper is reporting it now. It would be an amazing signing. Something this club has desperately needed for a while now. A creative force from deep.

Yeah but not a peep yet from Sky or BBC.
