I would imagine the terms offered were at a reduced rate, as he has not signed it immediately. I reckon he will either sign a pre contract deal in January or go on a free at the end of the season. Apparently there is a fair bit of interest in him and I dont think he will get a huge wage at Chelsea now. Surely he has made enough dough now and will want to play somewhere regularly?
