IMO, Luis was an unnecessary buy for us. Never did see the logic in it, not saying he's not a quality player, especially in these FFP days of yore.

A couple of things are working against that here. Haven't been watching him all season but at least today Valencia was eating him alive. Maybe a one-off bad showing. Mostly though, Bertrand voiced his discontent with the Chelsea youth policy, that there's been years of unfulfilled promises and explicitly stated his priority is first team football over loyalty to Chelsea. Im pretty sure he said that he sees his future away from Chelsea.

I know, that's why I know it's highly unlikely...Chelsea truly did screw him over though, and I can't blame him for wanting to leave because of that. To be fair also, Costa hasn't got a CL goal yet...

Shocked to see Bertrand leave in this window but on the other hand, happy for him. Deserved the playing time he's been getting there. Will always be remembered and appreciated, especially after Munich.

Will never understand why he's never been the chance. Should have gotten that LB spot. Always put in solid performances for us, at least 8/10 in every game. Only had 1 bad game for us - against Shakhtar at the Bridge. Even then, he had to defend the whole left flank by himself.

Oh well. All the best at Southampton!
