but then u cant say "sort of agree with sam" because he wants jose to attack bayern with 10 men and a goal lead to protect. :)

That's why I said "sort of" cos I don't agree with that - I even said in the post that Mourinho played it exactly how it should've been played because we're not ready yet.

For further clarification, I was agreeing with him with the fact that we do have the players to challenge Bayern for control but that they aren't ready to do so yet.

Why in the last seconds..

because mother nature is a cruel mistress and wanted us to experience exactly what bayern did 2 years ago. (she is probably being kind to us because the trauma of losing a CL with a goal conceded in 88th minute would be far more than what happened tonight)

Alright, I just got back home and I have to say this - I am so proud of the boys in blue, so proud. The didn't deserve this but this is football. We will bounce back, I have no doubts after seeing this game.

The atmosphere was fantastic, especially in the final three minutes when Jose wanted us so desperately to support the boys. Sadly, Bayern scored.

Anyway, a fantastic trip with a bitter ending and the memories will stay. KTF !

Meh, game doesn't really matter but it would be nice to have won. A few points

1) We lost to the best team in the world (albeit missing some key players) in penalties when we were down to 10 men for much of the game. No shame at all.

2) Stop the sofa managing. Your lineup and your changes wouldn't have been better.

3) Hazard, Cole, and Schurrle were the best players for me and Cech made some enormous plays and Cahill had a ridiculous 12 clearances and 7 blocked shots.

4) Oscar was a beast defensively but was awful going forward. Not just taking about the missed shot, that happens, but his vision was terrible, not seeing men in space and making runs a few times and his passing was too cute and really poor. Still early, but I keep looking for improvement in his offensive game which we'll need.

5) Lukaku missed a penalty. He'll be fine. If this has any long term effects on him (which it won't), he would never have had the mental toughness to be a player anyway.

6) Schurrle and Cole were only players above 80% passing.

7) Speaking of Schurrle, his work-rate is going to keep him playing a lot. Still don't see where De Bruyne fits in on this team.

8) Only mistake IMO was playing too many regulars. Player rotation is important IMO and this game would have been perfect to do it.

no mentioned for Pivot's work tonight?? i agree with you if you mean "Ramires-Lampard" is a worst partnership...

Disappointing not to win but the Super Cup won't make or break our season. The result in some regards is almost irrelevant due to the performance we put in, especially with 10 men, against arguably the best team in Europe. Jose, being the master motivator he is, will get just as much desire and positive reaction from the squad out of losing so narrowly tonight, as he would have if we had won.

After the international break, with Eto'o and Willian to come in and hopefully a fully fit Mata and Luiz and we'll be looking forward to some good times coming up, I'm sure of it.

Dude... did you even see the equalizing goal? that had nothing to do with philosophy and everything to do with individual brilliance. They scored very early in the second half not as a result of us sitting back but Ribery finding a good gap to hit a fabulous strike.

You clowns nit pick everything... Would you rather us play cavalier like Barca did and get destroyed 4-1? We had a lead and it came as a result of us defending well and hitting them on the counter, nothing changed after they scored we were still looking to hit them on the counter and but for some dumb luck we would've executed that perfectly.

So sick of so called supporters nit picking results with nothing really to add.

Chelseas only real fan is here to set everyone straight.
