LondonsFinest 692
To be fair, Griezmann relying on his one touch football and movement against Delaney, Shawcross, etc. would be a disaster.

the wes 7,212
Antoine Griezmann, 25, has told friends he is prepared to reject lucrative offers from the Premier League to stay at the La Liga club. The Frenchman has been closely monitored by Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City. (Telegraph) Blue_Fox_
chrismada9 1,948
Someone please explain to me this... Why would a player like Antoine Griezmann, playing for a club that has entered the Champions League final, (whether they win or lose in Milan), would want to join a club that offers absolutely no European Football, let alone the Champions League? Don't get me wrong.. I'd love to see Griezmann in a Chelsea shirt, but we have as much chance of getting Griezmann as I have of being able to find a diamond mine outside my house! Some of us need to be realistic about potential transfers like these. We just had a season that has severely damaged the club's image in more ways than one. No Europe.. no top quality.. I'd be very surprised if we were to get a marquee signing this summer. It's probably going to be about getting balanced players that will help with the complete overhaul of our squad... mix that in with the youth players that everyone begs and pleads to see start, and they hardly ever do.. and people wonder why our youth academy is so unsuccessful! The best activity we could possibly hope for this summer, is if we're able to keep the likes of Hazard, Willian, Costa, and maybe even Fabregas at the club, and we can build the team around them. If it means we get no top quality players then so be it! I hope I am proved wrong of course...

People here are blind and think that players would much rather play in the PL and for us than teams like PSG, Atletico, etc. He isn't leaving Madrid. Even Falcao joined them and he had a pretty good season and reputation back then. Money is bigger than principles these days .. you will see Leicester players like Mahrez and Kante leaving even for no European football the wes

Guys on here asking for them after 1 or 2 good seasons need to realise there are plenty of great players on average teams, that with a move to a team like Chelsea with other quality players around them, will become that world beater type. I mean 70% of the players everyone wants to buy on here are exactly that. Kante, Griezmann, Radja, Stones, Pogba, etc. All teams that saw something, gave them a chance, and look what they turned into. People on here wouldn't have had you buy them two or three seasons back. lol... MefiX19 and iseah100

The club or rather the Board's problem is that buying up-and-coming players is a problem, let alone buying world class players and that is due to one thing - obsession with making profits over all else. Even the youth policy has been turned into a money making engine.

Not that I think Greizman will come but I think you're overexaggarating somewhat, Gonzalo Castro gave up CL football to sign for Dortmund last summer. Also Leicester and Spurs being in the CL could work in our favour, one swallow not making a summer and all that.

Not sure if you can compare Greizmann to Castro.. I see what you mean in terms of the fact that a player giving up CL football for a lesser team is possible, but Griezmann is leaps and bounds ahead of Castro. That he may be, but it show that quality player's will take that gamble, especially on a club that is in it almost every season. And United had no European footy that season either.
