If we lose this, then we really need to have a look at ourselves. Southampton are probably the worst team defensively in this league after Arsenal (LOL) so if we don't score I will be disappointed indeed.

I would have said the line up we had against QPR... but seeing as we already did that line up and they were awful, we should change it up.

The problem against QPR was too much rotation. you change too many players around and you lose your flow.

Ba starting is heavily rumoured and I think it would be an ideal game for him to try and mix with the players behind him. I look forward to seeing how our team plays with someone who can actually consistently do his job upfront.

I expect us to dominate heavily and win. The loss to QPR is a lesson learnt. Piazon has earnt a start as well I think.

EDIT: on reflection, it is fair to say that Southampton carry that newly relegated underdog power with them and they play very well against the bigger teams for about 60minutes then just breakdown with fatigue. I have a feeling they won't be bringing it to us though. just a feeling. I just dont think they value the FA cup too highly, more concerned about the league I think so its possible some players will be rested for them and they won't have that desire.

For this game, I honestly dont know what to expect. Its Chelsea vs small team, could be trashing them or some weird defeat in the end...our morale is low, dont expect to win, unless good performance...

Should've really "rested" a few players for this game rather than QPR. Oh well. Hopefully we'll come through with a win, I think this game will be won by whichever team is up for it more.

I do have a wee soft spot for Southampton. Mainly because the word 'Southampton' just rolls off the tongue. And because of Matt le Tissier, he was awesome.

They are a real bipolar team. Some matches they absolutely cut through opponets using precision passing and flair other matches the look more like Aston Villa...watch out for Gaston Ramirez.and Adam Lallana, they are dangermen.

Personally, I'm not sure if Ba will start this one. Benitez will probably have his reason or excuse that he's not quite ready yet because he only had 1 training session with the team and still needs to know them better etc.
