Fernando Torres

@zolayes, We made a mere £4m loss on Sutton which all things considered wasn't too bad.

Veron i agree is probably up there however. Fleck im a bit too young to remember i was starting to get into football in his last days here.

it is posts which say worst /best ever in the history of the world without any supporting evidence which I find annoying..

we had about 2 years where Kalou was the worst ever ,,,,,,,,,,,,,etc

we paid 10 million for Sutton which at the time was a massive fee ... He scored 1 goal in 28 games and got sold on for half what we paid

I can ask you this though. Is it better for our 2 young strikers, Sturridge and Lukaku that we have only Torres now who is evidently shit or if we had someone like Cavani who we payed a massive sum?

Sturridge will be let go/ leave regardless of whether we sign a striker for a massive sum or not - he has been at CFC for 3 years and his the number of games he has started up top can be counted on one hand.

It's a major cock up and the fact we only have Torres has not helped Sturridge see any more of the green than from when we had Anelka and Drogba. Like I said he was available for the first 8 matches and played a spanking 10 minutes leading our line against QPR. He knows it's only him and Torres right now and he is still not trusted to start a game - I think he is getting the message we have send to him loud and clear.

All that matters here is to be a massive name, who the management team don't want to up sad. I was saying the same thing 2 years ago when Drogba/Kalou/Anelka couldn't hit a barn door so we decided to loan Sturridge and sign Torres without even playing Sturridge up top except an odd appearance as a sub or Carling Cup games against lower tier opposition(he had a good haul out of his starts in those games).

Like I've said we will lose Sturridge unless management has a massive shift in the way they treat him and no doubt if Lukaku doesn't develop fast enough on his own he would also be moved off in 3 years.

Everything else you've said is pretty fair Sh0n3x

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if he wanted to leave, but if he uses a chance this season I believe he would stay if we convince him of his status in the team. Besides, I'm pretty sure he knew the way Chelsea treat young players before he signed for us...I agree with you though, I hate the big name ahead of everything policy we seem to have had.

I'm really hoping he gets a start as a number 9 and scorers a few which would prove he can lead the line.

argue your case but dont just make extreme remarks that look ridiculous.. Remember Veron and Sutton and Fleck and thats just 3 from our club

Pound for pound he is easily the worst transfer we have ever made. 50M + 185k p/w for 5 years. Sheva still has more goals in less games.

Kalou did fine in terms of a squad rotation role.

I would of thought 50 million + massive wages is enough evidence to suggest that Torres is one of the worst transfers we've ever made.

perhaps ..BUT the worst transfer in the HISTORY of football????

Can you think of a worse transfer - all I can come up with is Gaizka Mendieta to Lazio.

Sheva did better than Torres(considering we never really dropped Drogba to play him) for us and wasn't as costly;

Carroll is not on the type of wages Torres is on and Liverpool could possibly make between 15-20 million pounds when they sell him;

Veron to MU was a possible contender until we took him off their hands

Aquiliani to Pool was a massive flop but they paid like less than 20 million pounds for him.

Only transfer as bad as Torres is Kaka to Real Madrid and possibly Mendieta

AVB for 13.3M? Got half a crappy season out of him. I would have done that for much less. (say 9.4 million) Torres is certainly one of the worst. ManU had a couple of awful ones. Veron for close to 30M was a bust. Anderson was over 20M. He's still around but it's been five crappy years.

fernando aint godd enough bcuz he doenst make the rights run and he doesnt dribble ball well also he is blonde also he isnt Falcao or benzema. they play in spain so they are better than torres even though torres played in spain once like 10 years ago when liverpool bought him. maybe we shud just sergio agwero or rooney as they are the best strikers in england and rooney captins england so that makes him even better. i hate kalou lol he sux. has anyone actually ever considered that maybe signing players for lots of monies like torres makes them bad players? i know ronaldo cost more than torres but that doesnt count so what im syaing is that expensive players suk and we should look for bargins like lamps and mata because they didnt cost mcuh even thouhg they cost more than ill ever make in my life. mikel sucks becuz he doesnt run and score goals a lot like ronaldo and messi i think that htey should also be signed but not for much money so if they are signed for a little like lamps and mata they will becom even better players than they are. if they are played in the two pivot with ramirez ( best player in the world) we will win the premer league and fa cup in like 20 minutes flat. also falco is the best striker in the world becuz he fashions his own chances and scores his won goals because he can shot dribble and pass like maradona. if he is signed tooo we will win everthing ever made even the serie r. but as i said before he needs to be bought for little bit of money so he can be a better player bexuz players tha t are expensie play worse like torres but not ronaldo. but it doesnt really matter becuz we have ramirez who is brazilan and brazilan are the bests footballers in earth because of fat ronaldo and cristaino ronaldo maradona pele and neymar and ronaldinyo he also runs and sprints a lot and has also when he runs he can shoot and pass not everyone can do that like mikel who has to stand to anything becus he suks lol/ torres sux becuez he shit

Another site compiled a comparison chart between Fernando a few other EPL strikers who are on form at the moment and Falcao

4r5h6d.jpg

Just look at the amount of times has either lost the ball to a defender or passed it directly to one per match, also look at how few shots he takes compared to other strikers - he certanly has had the opportunity to shoot a fare few times but took too much time and was dispossessed/blocked or chose to pass.

Not surprised by that high 'Dispossessed' stat when he thinks he is Messi trying to dribble past 2-3 players more often than not.
