Fernando Torres

Gotta applaud his idiocy of constantly dropping deep yesterday. Instead of playing on the shoulder of Sparta's backline to make himself available to receive a through ball, he constantly dropped deep trying to get himself in the buildup play. Too often we had 3-4 players looking to create and pass in the hole and suddenly Torres decides to drop in leading to major congestion in that area with no one making running off the ball runs at all!!

Additionally, every time when there is someone running to the byline and looking to put a cross in, Torres doesn't even bother to make the runs into the 6-yard area to attack it! He's always just standing in the middle waiting for someone to pick him out amongst the opposition defenders!!

Exactly. We paid 50 million for a man who was lightening quick and always on the shoulder of the last CB to get chances but he doesn't even do that anymore....... he also scored a fair amount of headers too but he doesn't even bother not even joking I reckon I'd do a better job upfront and I'm terrible

Think I would rather have Heskey than Torres...

LOL how can this cunt be so dumb, is it because he's blonde or what? He had no reason to get in his way, it's not like Marko ran into him, Torres literally stepped in front of him. The way Marin evaded those 2 opponents was pretty nice though, great control of the ball - something El Golscoro lacks, she relies solely on lucky bounces to get past his man.

Benayoun on Torres...

http://espnfc.com/news/story/_/id/1342119/yossi-benayoun:-chelsea-played-role-in-fernando-torres%27-demise?cc=4716

"It is a hard time for Fernando, but in my opinion the situation with him was managed badly from the beginning," Benayoun is quoted as saying. "You do not change so quickly from being one of the best in the world to a player that some people say is not good enough for Chelsea.

"When he was at Liverpool he was unbelievable. You gave him the ball and you knew he would score, but he had a bad time in the beginning at Chelsea. When he came in, he was on the bench, then on the pitch, so he did not get the confidence when he came in.

"With the £50 million price-tag above his head, it is not easy for any player, especially when Didier Drogba was here as well and was his competition."

Benayoun went on to suggest Torres is still "one of the best strikers in the world", and claims this is the first season he has been given the full
backing of Chelsea to prove his worth as their record signing.

"This is the first year the club gave Fernando 100% confidence he needs to be number one," he added. "He was scoring a few in a row. Now he is in another bad spell, but he just needs to believe in himself, to keep doing the right movements.

"He has 15 or 16 goals already and that is not bad. Gopefully he will finish with 25. It would be good to get his confidence back and be his old self, the real Fernando Torres. Personally I believe in him 100 per cent. For me, he is still one of the best strikers in the world."

Now another one blaming everyone else for Torres's demise...
