Mouri_Matic 560
Haha, very likely, sadly. Still our best option up front. His workrate > Eto'o's > > > > > > > > > > > Ba's.Ba is very lazy, he is like Chicharito but much worse. Imo Eto'o is alright, but he isn't hungry for glory anymore and couldn't really careless about us that is why he is not showing determination and passion, he is just doing his job. So we are left with Torres who is now very limited in term of technicality but he shows hunger and have a point to prove, also he needs to perform to get into Spain team for WC. So I agree with you, at least that is how it is for now.
The only place to be 11,313
Been burnt way too many times to say he's back, but the fact that he's doing this under Jose makes me think that maybe this is different to the other times. Naive perhaps but he slogged his bollocks off against Spurs and last night he did the same, but this time he added goals to the performance and they were nice too. Not flashy, but poacher's goals that came from being in the right place at the right time and his run for Hazard's goal was more of the same. Do the simple things, put in a shift and score goals - that's all we've wanted from him. Ljpaddock and Kojo

Fucking hate listening to them. The only place to be, The_Flash, kellzfresh and 2 others
The_Flash 1,144
Totally agree Redknapp was talking absolute nonsense last night, he obviously hasn't learned from Jose showing him up on tv,, or maybe now he is being even worse to is? Special Juan 28,141
I'm sure he will, he's now putting himself about and looking very dangerous. He's also making runs for other players, that is something he hasn't done since joining us.

The Skipper 20,609
Must say, Fernando has looked pretty good under Mourinho. If he keeps it up for the rest of the season he'll go some way to justifying his price tag (finally).

He will never come close to justifying a 50m transfer fee and 10m a season salary. The only thing he can do now is be less of an abject failure than he has been for most of his time at the club. didi007, Amblève., Tomo and 3 others

He'll never fully justify it, that's nearly impossible, what I am saying is that he'll atleast repay/justify some of it back if he has a good season. But he needs to grab a lot of (important) goals like the two against Schalke or the one against Bayern for that to happen. Styles

He needs to start scoring in the league too; just one in his last 25 league games. The Skipper, Barbara and DDA
Atlas Lion 1,223
Far too many times he has looked good then faded for a handful of games. Torres's work rate vs Eto'o's quick movement and finishing vs Demba Ba's off the ball movement. About time we have variety to choose from. CHOULO19 24,332
Can anyone verify if this is true?100 matches:Didier Drogba: 41 goalsFernando Torres: 39 goalsExcept it's not 100 matches for Torres, but 100 starts. It's 38 goals in 141 matches including 100 starts and 41 sub appearances. While DD had 41 goals in his 100 appearances between starts and sub appearances. On any account, what Didier offered for Chelsea beside goals, as a target man, as the center of attack and often center of the whole team, as a leader and big game player, can never be compared to what Torres does. Also goals are goals but Drogba scored goals against the highest caliber of oppositions and many of Torres goals came against Europa League opponents and as you say Drogba just offered many other things than goals. The amount of goals he got us that got us trophies and decided big games were priceless. didi007
