  1. 1. Who Is Your Man of the Match?

Luiz had a good bounce back game. Haven't seen a performance from him this good since the CL final. Hopefully he can build on it. Sometimes comments from your opponent's fans can say alot:

"Luiz makes horrible mistakes against every club... yet he hasn't today."

My biggest worry is can Rafa change tact for the game against Fulham midweek?

This was a typical Rafa performance from his Liverpool days in big games, tight, organized and not giving much away, his weakness his home games against Fulham and the likes as he draws a lot of them.

Having said that, Rafa's tactical display today gave me a lot of encouragement for the CL knockout stage if Shacktar can somehow save us.

I am very pleased with this draw.Azpi with his best game so far at Chelsea, looked very solid today.

He has not been out of place in any game he has played this season. I hope he is a permanent starter there at RB over Ivanovic as is your natural kind of RB you want.

He needs to stop pulling players shirts in the box though.

In the 90th minute Oscar had Torres onside available for a through ball or chip but he elected to pass to Moses who passed it straight into two City defenders. Kind of summed up things for me.

Nobody has faith in Torres so he doesn't get those passes.

We can take a few good things from this game, the only thing that worried me on defense particularly on the left side was when our players were sucked into the middle and City passed it back out wide we reacted on closing them down very slowly at times, which either gives them space to run at us or have time to give a half decent cross. I felt Ashley Cole reacted a bit slow at times when we were on attack. He missed a couple of good chances to maraud up the left touchline. Torres is too weak he only showed aggression once decisions weren't going his way instead of starting the game with a bit of fire.

All in all I have kept my feeling towards Benitez to myself as I to be honest felt divided on the situation from the start. I loved Di Matteo and was upset about him being sacked like he was but also I felt that something needed to be changed. Hopefully we buy a half decent striker soon as I feel this is our biggest issue right now.

Contrary to public opinion, while i think it was great for everyone to honour RDM and sing some songs for him, i strongly feel that the crowds behavior towards benitez was pathetic.

When the club is in a little bit of a hole, and we have a new manager, regardless of what he said 7-8 years ago when he was managing another club, the fans should'nt have created an atmosphere that they did.

Initially, i felt a little embarrased at the way Roman disposed off RDM, but the fans reaction to a managers first game in charge was much worse.

While people at the stadium probably thought they are making a stand and being valiant or whatever, it just reflected very poorly on the club and its fans.

Yes, Rafa is not the perfect choice. But "RAFA OUT" banners , and other such banners, along with the songs that were sung during the game, and then booing your own manager before he has even managed a game....

I dont know how anyone can give themselves a pat on the shoulder after such behavior.

Give him a chance.

I actually think he might do a good job.

David Luiz did not think he is superman and actually stayed back for most of the game, did not try and do tricks. Our defense suddenly looked organised.

Our midfield, as an expert on ESPN said, is "selfish", i never thought of it this way but they do overpass and rarely try a risky ball through.

Torres is beyond saving so wont say anything on that.

Marin must get a look in now.

I really think this formation does not suit us well.

We really need a 4-4-2, with Torres sturridge, Torres Lukaku, Sturridge Lukaku, or even Moses Torres etc etc.....

At the moment, Mazacar keep playing relatively safe passes and nothing much comes of it. Some passes do look spectacular, but in general there is no end game....

Rafa has alot that he can improve in the squad.... The city game was a start.... I really think we shouldnt alienate him even before he gets a crack.

Anyways, in the end its the results that matter. A tough game against Fulham coming up, if he can get the team level up a bit and tweak the setup, good on him.
