With that embarrassingly bad squad Arsenal fielded today our "second XI" from yesterday would thrash.

Unfortunately, they'll probably do what Liverpool did today and throw out their absolute strongest side since it's actually a very important trophy for a club craving any kind of silverware.

Not too sure actually as they play Liverpool on the weekend so I guess we will not see their best team.

then it will be more enjoyable beating them ,,,especially at their place

No doubt Arsenal will play a stronger team against us than they did tonight against West Brom but wonder how strong will it be.

They'll face us, Liverpool(H), Dortmund(A) and Man United(A) in four straight games and in the space of 12-13 days.

On the other hand, we might also have concerns of our own. We play Schalke(A), Man City(H), Arsenal(A), Newcastle(A) & Schalke(H).

If/when we beat Arsenal we and our players will obviously be happy and excited to move on to the next round, but we'll know it'd just be another game on the road to a trophy. If Arsenal win on the other hand, their fans will be carrying on about it for weeks and the "Wenger > Jose" brigade will make the internet unbearable. It would be like a huge accomplishment for the likes of Piers Morgan.

We have the quality in depth in offensive areas in the team so we should be able to play a very strong team no matter what. Should be able to beat Arsenal, if they put a similar team out to tonight, which I doubt, it will be another 5-0 if they strengthen their team slightly with Ramsey, Ozil, Cazorla, Arteta we should still beat them or at least give them an excellent game as we have more than enough players to give them problems.

I can't believe we have to face Arsenal when Utd get like Norwich, we always get done in the cup. Ah well hopefully we can really put in a good show, would love us to win few trophies this year.

Well Utd did have to face L'Pool. Its probably the FA trying to increase viewership ratings for the League cup.
