Milan 17,959
Howard Webb appointed ref. sure, why not. That's so transparent.
The only place to be 11,313
I might get slaughtered for this, or reminded of great injustices but I think Webb is probably the best ref we have. He can let games run and is never in a rush to book a player. He tries to manage games so he doesn't become a factor in them. He even said I get one split second decision - you watch endless replays and then decide. He was an advocate of technology in the game, but said its political - as with any company the 'doom mongerers' said the ref team could be cut down with technology - rather than it being solely augmenting them - that was 6 years ago, so likely things/feelings have changed.I still think he's ok and less poncy than Clattenberg! Hutcho 8,443
Yeah, everyone jokes about him, being SAF's bitch, but tbh i think he is an alright ref and there could be plenty more worse appointments. And off the pitch he semms like an alright bloke, who don't take crap from the players. Plenty of occasions we we have felt hard done by because of decisions he has made, but there are few refs we can say haven't at some point or another. And as muzchap said at least its not clattenburg... I've met him only very briefly and I agree - decent bloke. Surprisingly imposing as well which is a little different from the majority of refs who are kinda weedy with the obvious exception being Phil Dowd. Webb's got a good physical presence but doesn't tend to talk down to the players and tries to let the game flow as much as possible. Could make for a good game. Hutcho 8,443
We'll smash them... provided we play demba and crucially out score them... But seriously, i am not that scared of them. Granted we have a crap coach and dont have the togetherness united have but we still have quality players and if we set out right and give it a go we have the ability to do well against them. Special Juan 28,140
Webb to give them everything including blow jobs, Rooney to score two and be a hero again and we go out with a whimper.
bushman 2,043
On Sunday, Chelsea just might put the final nail into Manure´s coffin. It´s not an easy task mentally when you have been knocked out of the CL because their confidence is shattered, I feel.Maybe Chelsea just might have an advantage here.Who knows, maybe Howard has seen the Turkish ref & learned how to give red cards ? NishC300 1,865
The question isn't if we'll get a red card. Question is which of the 3 players will be shown the 3 reds! @CHOULO19, I have to say I kinda agree with Choulo when he said we ought to just forfeit the game and save the player's energy
