This forum is really weird in terms of praising and criticizing some players. Moses was good for most part of the season, actually he was even essential, since he was the best player in the squad that could play the "wing back" role. Ok, but he has always been pretty limited, he offers almost nothing in terms of going forward, but he is usually pretty solid in defense, and he hardly make stupid defensive mistakes, but despite he being limited, there were a lot of crazy comments saying he as "world class"  when the team started to win games after games.

Now after a silly mistake in a FA Cup Final everybody are saying we need someone to replace him.

Really? So if the result was different with Moses scoring the winner people would believe Moses was really good enough to start games next season?

Moses is by a country mile the most limited player of the current starting XI and easily one of the most limited of the entire squad (if no the THE most limited).  What he did this season was enough to give him a deserved +2 years contract and he will be a useful player next season, but as a squad player and this has nothing to do with his red card in the FA Cup Final.

Welcome to Talkchelsea.

Home of the knee jerk reaction people!

I don't agree that many people have changed their minds. Most people are, I think, exactly where they always have been, and where I am too, on Victor. He has played a significant part in our improvement but he is nothing more than the best option we have. He's holding the place until we get someone better. If Saturday has made those who would like to see Victor replaced a bit more vocal then that's maybe understandable. It doesn't mean however that before Saturday they all thought he should remain our starting RWB.

Different people have different priorities, but for me Vic is, and has been for many, many months, number 2 on the requires upgrade list.

I know we are after Alex Sandro, but we really should sort our RWB problems out first. Moses hasn't been at his best since January and a teenager owned him on Tuesday. Chamberlain might be a good option to provide some competition on our right side..

LWB is priority because we have 2 players who can play RWB (Azpi, Moses). We have no left-footed players who can play LWB other than Alonso, and don't tell me Kenedy. RWB is not that pressing because we can rotate there, even Rüdiger can possibly slot in if needed. Ideally we upgrade both, but the left side seriously needs numbers first.

The Ox should be the man we go for, he would be a very good signing.

Arsenal won't sell one of their brightest talents to us.

We'll probably end up paying for Ryan Bertrand to be Alonso's competition at LWB.

Ox's contract ir running out in one year, so now or never.

How does Bertrand come here? Ox is a RWB, no LWB.

Have you forgotten Nasri, Van Persie? Can never rule out anything with Arsenal.

Well Nasri never moved to a direct rival...he just chose money (just like Adebayor, Hleb, Song, Cesc).

As for Van Persie, he wasn't a bright talent, he was a often-injured 30 year old looking to win a title.

I'd be shocked if Arsenal let the Ox move to Chelsea...as our last major transfer with them was 11 years ago!

???

RVP wasn't talented? He's one of Arsenal's all time top goalscorers. He was excellent.

And Cech didn't transfer across town eleven years ago.

Nasri joined City and that's not moving to a direct rival?

Since when Fabregas chose to move because of money? He was frustrated by Arsenal's lack of success and wanted to return to Barcelona.

Van Persie wasn't a bright talent? He was one of the clinical strikers around and his goals were the only reason why United won the title in 2012/13.

Cech's move to Arsenal wasn't a major transfer? It didn't involve a lot of money but it was still big letting arguably our best goalkeeper joined a direct rival.

People seem to forget Moses has only played one season at RWB, he's not even a defender. Other right backs/wing backs have played that role for years, so people are unnecessarily judgmental on Moses. I think Tomori would be a great RWB if given the chance, mainly because he's always played as a defender and has a defender's mindset. He also played RB earlier in his youth career.

LOL Jason, I didn't expect this type of reply from you..

1) City and Arsenal were never rivals...there was never 'hate' between the clubs apart from the whole Adebayor celebration.

2) A 30 year old striker is not a bright talent...so I'm not sure what you mean.  There is a difference between signing a 23 year old homegrown youngster who can play a key role for 10 years...and a 30 year with 1-2 years left in the tank.

3) Cech to Arsenal wasn't a major transfer, he was a great goalkeeper past his peak who preferred to stay in London for his family...  If we didn't have an equally-good keeper waiting in the wings, then maybe it would have been a major transfer..

Anyway, back to the topic at hand...hopefully we can sign someone capable of challenging/displacing Moses from that RWB role.

He has alarming low IQ. I just can't understand how player can't grasp offside rule.

He's very, very good squad player. Costs next to nothing on FFP books, home-grown, relatively low wages. Athletic and good experience, in his prime years. But he should only be squad player.

Agreed,  he is VERY average, and i thought that Azpi provided much more of an outlet today with his crossing.

Moses infuriates me, the only thing he does decently is dribbling and even at that he is not that good, we need new WB´s BADLY
