Stingray 9,441
I have no doubt, he is good enough to wear it and he has no competition...I agree! Personally i think he had adaptation issues a bit. Its true that it can be hard. Hazard had a shitty period as well before and around new year. ... Even EPL Players that came in felt a form rebound: Moses, Ba ..... Torres ( )For Oscar: being world class is just in his DNA.... So he is on my favorite team for next year! Rmpr
Hutcho 8,443
He is kind of in a bad situation where he is on one of the few teams were he won't be able to play his favourite position. I don't think we can keep playing him on the right wing as a regular thing, so adapting him to more of a CM, may be the best way to get him into the first 11. It may not utilise all his skills, but Mata, is only 24 and still getting better and is just something else so i can't see him really getting that spot of him any time soon. Could play CM, then AM when Mata is rested or whatever. The only place to be
DanishBlue 426
Mata is 25 - minor detail.I agree with you. If we were to play a 4-3-3 he would maybe be able to fit in better. It would be such a shame not to have Oscar in the starting xl. I love him as a player and he is too good to be on the bench - with time he is going to be worldclass so we just have to play him imo Pascal Newton
Pascal Newton 33
We could always change our formation if when Mourinho comes. I don't think Mata would suffer as much as people think he would. GhanaBoy

Hutcho 8,443
May as well try and play him in a deeper role. That way he can get consistent game time and should be able to do a great job for us, as realistically it is unlikely he is gonna be our first choice AM. And i think his skills are more suited to playing at CM rather than wide on the right. Blue-in-me-Veins

And it's wired cuz that's exactly what I envisioned of him when he first arrived (playing in CM) It was a shame for him really but he didn't pout about it, and just got on with it and still contributed greatly,, props to him. But next season playing in the pivot is a must. Hutcho

Modric coming in, would be a bit of an awkward situation, in that sense as we couldn't play them together, but if we were to buy someone like de rossi, or lars bender then, Oscar could really thrive alongside them. And that problem you mentioned goes to show how difficult this team is configure out personel wise. Some people are strict CAMs, others are CAMs being played out wide, B2B mids being played in pivots when really a 433 would suit them best. It is a major headache putting forward not only the best XI but getting the right back-ups (in the transfer market) for certain positions and then also meshing in the upcoming talents such as the Lukaku's, KDB's, Ake's, Romeu(?), Josh, etc. our team really is hella hard to put together, its like an ultimate jig-saw puzzle. I really like him but not so sure what was the main reason begind his signing. Was he signed to play as cm and it turned he is not really a cm. Or he was signed to back up mata or our board really envision mazacar Amblève.
nono 791
No, the problem is that we play Lampard, Mikel and Ramires together. You can only have one out of those three at a time in the midfield because they struggle to pass and to link the defense with the attack. It is really that simple. Mikel has been kept for only god knows why. Lampard has been earning the seniority and loyalty paycheck but still shouldn't be starting, let alone getting so many minutes. Ramires I like the most out of the three. All this is doing is taking a better player in Oscar out of his preferred position. It will be interesting to see what Mourinho does. Will he put an end to this mediocrity that we've had to suffer in midfield these last few years ? Reddish-Blue
