I love Luiz, what a legend! I have nothing but admiration for the players who go out of their way to help a new signing/fellow countryman settle in. Mata always speaks of what Torres did for him, and it allows the player to hit the ground running for the team.

Totally agree, Lamps should be used as a sub if anything this year. We want a slick passing game by the looks of what Robbies tried in pre-season which can't be done with pedestrian players like Lampard taking 4584884 touches before maybe passing the ball, dribbling forward at 0.000000540504649 mph, loosing it and then not going back to help defend.

Mikel isn't suited to high tempo games, either. We really do need a midfielder who can move the ball quickly. Thankfully we're really well stocked in terms of 'slow' midfielders when we need to play a slower paced game.

I would be ridiculously disappointed if he has to settle for a role on the bench this season. Yes he is young but you don't become Brazil's first choice number 10 if you don't have talent and this guy has talent in bucket loads. I know he probably wont feature at all against Wigan but by the time of the Newcastle game I'd fully expect him to play a part.

I totally agree, i think wigan game is too soon and newcastle could even be a bit soon if he needs more time to settle, but by then/after then i too fully expect him to become a regular etc... He is only 20, but as you say he has become brazils first choice number 10, and would appear to be one of their best ball retainers/passers... If he doesn't play many games this season then he will have been heavily under utilized.
