Well .... That was a time he played amc ... A 10. It IS his best position. He needs the ball a LOT to perform. I also believe he can switch the flank/central role with Mata. That is a brilliant combo as we have seen. I fear for Oscar at 10 in Chelsea to be frank. He will be brilliant at it - i however believe will be more brillant at it sooner, thus cementing that poition in alternation with Hazard.

I see him as an 8 ..... World class 8.

I prefer Eden as a 7 :P but you know him better than I, so you're probably right about the 10.

Well he shines as a Aml, will be world class as a 10. The way Mata and Hazard switch is an asset, not a liability.

So 10-7 all the way!

Also, are you a teacher as well? Because I must say as one myself, your didactic is flawless. I understood you so perfectly! I love that you brought the formations. It's easier to understand like that and I worship the ground Pirlo walks on, so using him as an example is pretty great as well.

I feel accomplished with this post. Where do I save it? Liking it is definitely not enough.

now do you speak Portuguese at all, or you were just trying to be nice to me?

I know my English isn't that bad, but I'm so clueless about the lingo in some areas that it hurts.

I'm glad that you found my post so useful. No, I am not a teacher, but I appreciate the complement.

P.S. Sim, eu falo um pouco de Português, but I was also being nice to you. :D

Well for a few reasons. Firstly, with a back three like that, either it would have to stay really narrow or spread out and leave massive gaps. If it stays narrow, then it will get destroyed by any team with competent wide players. Now, in defense, you could say that Hazard and Schurrle could help out, but honestly, neither are well equipped to be wingbacks as they aren't too good at defending. Therefore, any overload onto either side from opposition wingers and sidebacks would leave us horribly exposed. If the back 3 spreads out a little more, then that gives more space for opposition centre-forwards to run onto, and Terry, who's legs are quite fucked, would have massive amounts of difficulty dealing with any quick centre-forward.

Just look at the 3 in defense formation that Juventus uses. Lichsteiner and Peluso are more side backs than anything and their back three consists of 3 very solid and smart centre-backs. A back three consisting of one centre-back (who has absolutely no pace on him anymore) and two sidebacks with no defensive cover from the wings would get absolutely crushed.

You obviousley forgot that infront of these 3 defenders, there would be Luiz and another capable DM.

Of course the 3 defenders would be played widely and not narrow. Luiz and another DM would cover it quite well enough (unfortunatley we dont have this "other one" at the moment though).

Azpi---------Terry---------Cole

------Luiz------------DM----------

The way the formation would work is that we would keep more possession aswell as dominate the midfield ALOT more than we have seen Chelsea done lately, which has been one of our biggest issues tbh.

Sucidal, too many gaps in between the channels and lines. A 2 man strike force would have a field day, just doesn't work, especially with Terry there, who although might be position all astute lacks in pace. A ball over the top and it's game over. If you're going to play 3 at the back you need a narrow back 3, not a wide one.

Ambitious, but just wouldn't work. Any team deploying that would get eaten alive.

Jesus even an Italian side from the 60's playing that formation would concede at least 5 goals a game. 3 at the back with two wing backs and a center back would be so so so so so so so so stupid, no offence.

If we play 3 at the back we would concede way too many goals. Unless we were to bring in 2 new defenders and a other DM. And play Ashley Cole and azpi as wing backs which then makes it into more of a 5 in defence. So I find it pretty pointless. Our posession will increase when we find a proper DM so oscar can work his magic alongside him. And he can link up with hazard and mata from deep.

It's the players not the formation Imo.

Watching some TV show about Confeds and they mentioned tonight was Oscar's 89th match in the season (without considering Olympic Games last year). That's insane.

He's tired, he's overloaded. He played center, left and right today. A little bit of everything. Give my boy a break.
