DId you saw City last season? did one of Silva, Nasri or Aguaro ever played in the same position 3 attacks in a row?

Maybe the formation will say Mata is playing one the right or left, but he wont play as a real left/right winger for a full game.

Yes true to say that and i can't see the trio of Hazard, Mata and say Oscar all staying in fixed positions. If they can get the balance of inter changing into each others positions throughout games it could be potentially devastating to the way opposition clubs are set up to stop us. Like I said before though it wouldn't be impossible for Oscar to slot into Lampard's position at all.

Lamps said that if he doesn't start he at least wants to see the team win. We didn't when we played clearly inferior players and his "anger" at AVB was pretty much justified. I doubt he will cry like a baby if a world class talent like Oscar replaces him.

Exactly. Although I think in order to fully accomodate him as a replacement to Lampard, at least at first, we'd have to play him in a 4-3-3, because the deep role is too restrictive for him and has far too much responsibility in defense for a player of his type. In the midfield 3 he could go deep and high, like Frank used to do. If we insist on playing 4-2-3-1, then he has to play in the 3 and Lamps will get his spot back.

Well Spain got eliminated.

So we will see how long Mata will take vacation before coming to Chelsea....might not be ready for the game though.

I'm pretty confident he will. Not sure if he's going to start or sitting on the bench first though.

I think people need more realistic expectations for Oscar. He's clearly an immense talent, but coming from the Brazilian league to the Premier League is an enormous step up and to expect him to immediately be Iniesta or something is unrealistic and unfair to him. (Just like expecting Hazard to be Messi is unrealistic and unfair to him.) These are young players coming into a new league where players are faster, stronger, and more talented and they will have their ups and downs at least in the short term.

I hope your joking, for Oscar's age he is one of the best young attacking midfielders in the PL already. There is no 20 year old better than him that I can think of..... not even Jack "deletes twitter because hes apparently failed a drug test" Wilshere. He will rip the league up.

Yep, and it's not as if he's played against world class players with Brazil in the olympics yet. The ability and talent is there, but there are human factors to be taken into consideration. Expectations should be lowered, but it's hard because Mata has spoiled us.

I agree we shouldn't be going "over the top" about the guy just yet, however anyone who has seen him play at least one game of his can see he is an emmence talent, and would appear to be one of our best buys in a long time. The premier league is obviously much harder than the brazilian league, but the majority of his skill is his ability on the ball, and that shouldn't change whatever league we are in... Really can;'t wait to see him play for us... Definately the best of his type of player for his age that i can think off at the moment...

Lol you've just proved his point. Oscar will need time to settle and adapt to the league - but of course he could do this quicker than say Ramires.
