I'd take this.

Fair deal IMO. We should try not to sell Bert to Everton as it'll force them to let go of Baines and he'll probably end up at United.

Shaw and Bert can compete for places next season when Cole leaves.

Don't see it happening in January. Also, Bertrand will be allowed to leave? That doesn't sit right with me.

The guy isn't playing so it's only right he moves on.

It he wants to go to the world cup he has to come.

It does happen that players get a big move and then all of a sudden get called up, but Lallana, Lambert and Rodriguez have all been called up from Southampton. What Shaw needs is to keep playing well and getting minutes, and he might not get them here.

What he might get is a chance in the Champions League though.

Really want to get this guy though. Ticks every box and we need an English core of players at this club.

While I understand the need to purchase a LB as a long term replacement, especially when Bertrand doesn't seem to be favored, think I would rather see the money first being spent on getting a midfielder for the pivot and striker before getting a new LB.

Southampton boss Mauricio Pochettino has warned clubs off moving for Luke Shaw, insisting the full-back is not for sale.

Shaw is regarded as one of the best young talents in the country after coming through Southampton's famed academy.

The likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham have all been credited with an interest in the exciting left-back.

Pochettino is not surprised that the England Under 21 international is attracting interest from other clubs, but is adamant they do not need to sell Shaw.

"They can show their interest," said Pochettino. "That's not something we control.

"But in this individual case he is not a player we are willing to sell. In a sporting manner, he is not for sale."

Football doesn't work like that. You don't always get to choose when you buy talent, you have to strike when they're available and who are we realistically going to get in January?

This guy is an absolute no-brainer and I've seen no evidence to suggest that we couldn't get this guy and still have money for these other positions especially when you factor in his age (the length of the contract) and wages, plus the money saved on getting Bertrand off the books in January and a reduction in Cole's wages in the summer.

THIS is the type of transfer the club should be making. He might not sell shirts, but he'll win you titles.

This has to happen. I know people say that maybe a midfielder and another foward are more important but with Luke Shaw the LB position is fixed for the next decade and more.

All are important deals.

We need a RB, we need a CM and we need a striker.

And possible a CB but I dunno if Jose will bring all of these in in 1 season.

* LB !

Do we? I'd be more than happy for Azpilicueta to have the RB position. He's a quality player and should be our RB right now. Then we have Wallace/Kane etc to try work their way into the team/squad.
