Yes the club have signed some poor players, particularly over the last couple of seasons but we've also brought some extremely good players, and even in their twilight years Hazard also got to work with the likes of Lampard, Terry, Cole, Drogba, Ivanovic whilst he was still young and developing as a player and a man.

I love Hazard and I really appreciate what he has done for this football club. But this is Chelsea FC not Eden Hazard FC. He has been our main source of creativity and inspiration over the years but without tactics and personnel playing behind him (certainly under the likes of Benitez, Mourinho and Conte) to make us solid defensively, he wouldn't have been afforded the freedom he has been provided with for large parts of his Chelsea career to provide us with that. 

The same goes for the likes of Messi, Ronaldo, Neymar, etc. All the success and adulation isn't possible without the backdrop of 10 other players in support of that. 

I think only City have won as many trophies as us in England since Hazard has been here, so whilst he has given us potentially his best years as a footballer, he's hardly left looking back thinking "what if?" when he looks at his trophy collection.

Im taking about the last 3 seasons or so. Yes he has had quality to play with here and there. But overall you must admit we could have done better. He needs quality to flourish, to show himself even more. Since Marina has come we have indeed fucked him and the team over,tTheres no denying that imo.

And still in that spell we've won a league title and an FA cup and could potentially add a Europa League to that also.

Conte my friend.....Conte did us great in that time. He saw where our strenghts were loacted and took advantage to its maximum. That team bare Kante and Eden is not what we have now. EL is a good trophy, but to be blunt its still second class. We have met no one in EL this season, both luck and lack of quality. CL have been dire this season nevermind EL. My point is, this squad has been mismanaged, badly. Lots of revenue thrown down the drain.

Someone else will be the face of the club over the next however long and again when they move on it will be the same cycle. I mean when the likes of Terry, Cole, Lampard, Drogba werent at their best people and eventually left people were worried because we were losing some of the most iconic players in the clubs history or wouldnt be able to find players like them at their best but as we seen we still had success with various other players of a high standard. Losing Eden is what it is, was inevitable eventually be it if he retired here or was gonna leave to pursue his career somewhere. Sure we will be fine one way or another.

I honestly think his potential absence is greatly exaggerated. Folks are thinking of what we have now, but a reminder that he is our top earner. These type of wages can attract excellent players to our club.

He isn't, both Kante and Higuain make more. 290k per week  and 270k per week. Hazard makes 200k a week.

Honestly think these sort of interviews make it more and more obvious hes off and that his mind isnt 110% on the season still although again his performance tonight wouldnt exactly prove otherwise, it may be almost done but still. Any other player wouldnt say anything but as weve seen with Eden, Lukaku, Courtous, de Bruyne it must be a Belgian thing 😂 I wont miss these sort of interviews.or the ones he does when with the NT when he goes tbf.

Honestly don’t think it has anything to do with his commitment. He’s just not that influential or at least not consistently enough.

Also, the free role is given to someone who knows exactly what they're doing on the pitch, and there is no one else in the squad that does that. 

If we did have someone, then you wouldn't see the team constantly passing the ball to Hazard and expecting him to conjure up something.

If you think we should buy someone who can do that, the club could have gone ahead and just done that a long time ago. What does that have to do with having Hazard in the squad?

Mate, if willian had that performance, he would be crucified. 

Hazard was anonymous. Uncharacteristically lost the ball a number of times. Hardly tracked back or closed down.

I don't think we should give him accolades for the penalty, it was the bare minimum he could do for us.

Let's just hope it was due to the exhaustion of a long long season. And now he has 20.days to fill up on his energy resources.
