AVB has flirted at times with a 4-2-3-1 and I think that would work well if we had

A. A quality left winger (Mata would obviously move into the CAM position), the problem is that when we do go to a 4-2-3-1 atm the options for the left wing role are either Malouda or Kalou, not good enough.

B. A striker, obviously we have Drogba and Drogba is great but looking ahead to the future, a longterm top class centre forward would be nice.

The first one's way too defensive and I find the second one very offensive. I can see why you love these formations, though. If you put two DM's in FIFA your defense is invincible (God I fucking hate it when people do that), and with the second one you can score a lot of goals.

Bluelion that is a quality shout, i would not mind that for home games, Mata can play that CAM role with Sturridge's world class pace upfront. Lampard could not function in that system because he lacks agility behind the striker, Mata would be a very annoying player to play against in that role and i also think Ramires would love to play in the CM with Raul and Romeu holding.

Playing a diamond formation would be a waste of time in my opinion. We end up relying too much on full backs and I think it's easy to stop, we also lack width.

4-3-3 is fine if you ask me. I agree a left winger is what we need as Mata should be pushed into the middle. I prefer Sturridge on the right, playing him as a central striker means we would have nobody to play on the right wing. Sturridge has adapted very well on the right hand side, he sees more of the ball in that position also.

Hazard, well it's obvious why I want him, Immense Talent, would add great Creativity and He like Mata can Cut inside really well but also Tear down the Wings. This would allow Mata to be the CAM, Gotze would be the Second, Fall back option if we couldn't Land Hazard, will be a World Class CAM. And Lucas is also a Good option, can play RW and CAM and As a Result we could use Sturridge as a CF sometimes. Lucas would be quite Verastile. I'd lik at least 2 of those Players. A New RB is Esseintial IMO. Bosingwa is just bad...Ivanovic should be available as CB Cover, so a New RB would be Welcome, which would leave us with 4 CB's, Ivanovic, Luiz,Cahill and terry which is what we need
