Guest justin_3d
I actually like this signing. But as I mention in various post, this will be a good buy if he takes over Lampard.Cause if Lampard continues playing while this guy sits on the bench, then he was bough for nothing. That being said, if he takes over Lampard place, then all signings being made this transfer window where good. Even last year as well, with the exception of Torres.Well done Chelsea.P.S. Chelsea you miss out on Alvero. Merieles-Perreira would have made for an exquisite rapid counter attack team, and fast flowing movement of the ball.
Tortilla9 390
Having watched Meireles and Torres for 4 shorts months at LFC, they can play together and seem to have an understanding with each other. Something Torres and Frank don't seem to share.Meireles' agent was negotiating deal non-stop for last five hours before deadline. Yossi exit was one sticking point. Stupid scousers actually think the deal happened in the last 30 minutes.
Hysteria 159
For the price, was a good sign, but i agree 4 years is too much for his age. Btw, he is so stylish with the tattos and stuff lololol.

Guest justin_3d
Yeah, very interesting. He's a good player but I think he doesn't solve our creativity problem. I liked the way he played in the World Cup 2010. Meireles gives more options in the midfield and he can play in many roles. Hope he plays well!We might see that creativity coming from Josh if he gets more chances this season.
Tomo 21,751
Mikel, Lampard, Anelka and too a lesser extend Alex are IMO the main culprits for our slow play. bring Luiz, Meirieles, Romeu and Danny in their places we might see a more faster Chelsea. Tortilla9 390
Well one thing for sure, it can't be any slower.

Cosmin 2,484
Meireles giving Torres a relatively easy tap in.http://www.fernando9...⊂=16&id=1039Yeah, they seem to work pretty well together. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OBuORLi2whY (Nando's second goal)
Spike 12,049
Start RantGot into an arguement with a stupid scouser today about this. He said that he wanted Meireles to leave but afterwards he said that he was a traitor."Betray us and you will always walk alone." Fuck off you stupid scouser bastards.WHY DO THEY HAVE THE WORST FANS IN THE WORLD?I bet they all think he did it for the money. I think he joined to win trophies and be around many other Portuguese speakers.End Rant

whinni09 37
Well... Welcome Raul. You have a lot to prove to me, but I really like your style, hehe The kind of style we need in Chelsea to play more a tough style

LDN Blue 7,903
One good thing about Meireles is he is an avid follower of the "pass-and-go" movement. Something we really lack..

LondonPride1905 236
One thing is certain, he can make a pass, he is experienced, works his *ss off and costs only 10 mil. If something he reminds me of Ballack, and with all the negativism in many of you, that may stimulate him even more. COME ON, RAUL, SHOW THE SCOUSE TROPHIES ARE WON HERE, NOT NEAR LAKE MERCY! MetsajCFC 1,255
I'm really excited. Some of you sound like pedophiles - "anything over 25 is bad".. get a grip 27-30 are the best years for a footballer. He also had time to settle in EPL at Anfield.. had a great season, gives competition to Lampard and Ramires for that matter.. has a good shot, can be a threat from a long range and that's what we've been missing. I repeat this is not a damn FM11 or Xpert11, this is real life.. he'll be brilliant if given the right chance and SUPPORT. He also has worked under AVB before, played with Torres before as well. Had we made Mata+Meireles signing last night together, we'd be all praising CFC board. I think they've done a brilliant job this summer. Getting in youth, especially Mata and Lukaku, didn't let Sturridge slip away, loans for Kakuta in Bolton, got rid of some youth players they knew weren't going to cut it yet. Loan deal for Yossi to Arsenal, so he can't play against us.CechBosingwa-Ivanovic-Terry-ColeMikelRamires-MeirelesSturridge-Torres-MataAvailable subs: McEachran, Anelka, Malouda, Hilario, Drogba, Lampard, Luiz, Romeu, Lukaku, Alex...I think it's a great line up, we have a good bench as well now. Face it, there are LOADS of games coming up. One injury and otherwise we would have been fucked but now there's cover for everyone. Who would have replaced Lampard for instance? McEachran surely will get playing time and rightly so, but he will never replace Lampard, not yet. Meireles is CM and DMF as well.
