Juan Mata

He wouldn't fit at Arsenal I think.

I don't see how Arsenal could play Mata and Cazorla without being murdered on the counters.

He would have fit better at Tottenham with their midfield that are quite strong but not very creative.

Cazorla plays on the left and Mata would play in the AM position with Walcott on the right I guess. Let's just pray this move does not happen but on deadline day the weirdest and unexpected transfers happen.

The only and I mean ONLY way I'd be okay with selling Juan is if it's to another league and we immediately use the cash to buy a top class DM.

There's no way our board would be stupid enough to sell our best player to any of our rivals.

Think it's fair to say that Mata won't be starting many big games under Jose especially when it's away from home. However, think we should wait till after the international break and then see how he's being utilized particularly with many games coming up before we completely just disregard him of not being a Mourinho player or that Mourinho doesn't like him.

It's painful or don't feel nice to see him not playing but I supposed we have lots of options now where some players will play certain kind of games, while some won't. And don't forget that it was September last year that Mata really got going into the season.

If he doesn't play against Everton in 2 weeks time then we all know his time here is finished, at least as the main man anyway. No more excuse then as he would have got 1 month worth of rest.

Speak for yourself. Many people knew Mata found it difficult in big games and was borderline invisible on several occasions.

We're not a one man team.

Invisible lol?

United, Arsenal, Spurs, Barcelona, Madrid etc he constantly has great games against them.

The character assasination has begun.

He's by far our best offensive player the only problem with him is his defensive work rate.

Yes, agree we are not a one man team but Mata was such a deciding influence many of the times we played. Bar City, he has been a key influence against United several times. He scored the winner there last season, scored a magnificent goal at our ground in the 3-2 loss which we got cheated out of and was it not him who provided the assist for Ba's wonderful goal against United in the FA Cup replay last season?

When we won the CL how key was he to our run? Scored the key away goal in Naples, was the best player on the pitch in the return leg. He also scored home and away against Arsenal when we done the double over them last season. In fact every game he has played against Arsenal when he has started he has scored from what I remember. Also when we beat Spurs 4-2 at WHL last season he scored 2 and assisted the final goal for Sturridge.

Yes, sometimes I agree that he has found it difficult in big games but more times than not he has proved a decisive factor and that is not easy to replace. He proved last season that if he was an indispensable player. He saved are team so much for the last 2 seasons.

yes beside city, mata ONLY really invisible against barca and bayern ,when team play really really deep :halo:

but other many big game and important match last season, not always but he often play really good

i think this isn't about mata useless or not in big game, but maybe under mourinho the system and team transtional play is different

your kidding, right? because an invisible player cannot be a deciding influence anytime ...

It's all about the wrongs and not the right!

Mata is the only consistent offensive player on our team. Even in his poor games he usually contributes towards our attack.

Hazard has a higher ceiling because of his pace and dribbling ability but isn't anywhere near as consistent. Out of Oscar, Mata and him he's the least influential in big games.
