Why hasn't Vicente Del Bosque not given him some match time at the Euros!?!?! He should play...

Because Spain have ridiculous depth at midfield.I love Mata, but the last two matches, Spain have started with Xavi, Inesta, and Silva in the midfield with Fabergas and Navas off the bench. That's insane depth at midfield. Even making the squad at that position is a sign that you are a special player.

Ah take it as a blessing. He's already confirmed Olympic participation (where one would think he'll play most, if not all, games). The less he played for Espanol now, the less burnt out he'll be when he returns to us in August.

That's true, there is always a positive aspect for us when a player doesn't play for his country. But for the sake of the player, I would like to see him get a chance in a big tournament at least once. It's just special to see Chelsea players in such competitions, gives me extra reason to watch those games and root for them.

Don't understand either of your lineups. Looks confusing with so many options. No offence.

Well, if we play 4-2-3-1...Sturridge will most likely be on the bench as our backup CF...don't really see him being used as RW (once we buy a natural RW).

If we play with 2 strikers, then Sturridge should definitely be starting.

I'm pretty damn sure we won't be playing 4-4-2. It's either 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 with the latter being most likely.
