Amblève. 4,995
I don't really get why people (especially on Twitter) are saying that Mata will more likely than not fail at United. If van Gaal uses his 5-3-2 formation Mata, van Persie and Rooney are locks for the front-3 positions. communicate

I thought Van Gaal would use 4-3-3 and he'd be screwed, but with 3-5-2 not only will he play a lot, he'll have the type of freedom he needs to shine.Herrera also being there helps him; with his quick, incisive passes. communicate 2,703
You didn't watch Mata under Jose. Painfully bad, he was so out of form. I know this becuase I know you don't watch football. Oscar wasn't amazing but he was better than Mata. Hindsight can be bad because Mata hit a bit of form when Oscar fell out of form, but at the time when Mata was sold, he was appualing. In the end he wanted to leave and the club got an amazing deal out of United. It is harsh on mata but for what mourinho want from him, it's practically impossible for him to satisfy Mou.Physically mata is average at best and mou want his AM to do a lot of pressing. Barbara 15,149
On paper it looks good.. but not really, we'd still have the same problems with Mata in a Mourinho system.even more with Cesc behind him.To be honest that formation doesn't work even on paper imo. We'd be ran over even worse than Arsenal normally is. We'd be easy preys for any team's midfield.
couris 232
Incredible player. The way he is playing right now, he would be our best player. wow
The Skipper 20,609
That RVP, Rooney, Mata forward three is going to be very interesting for United next season. kellzfresh, dee25 and Stats

Stats 7,147
The goals in those players terrify me.Look how much goals SAS scored last season and it helped that they were not in Europe. Even Sterling got 9 league goals. United are in the same position and you can see that trio sharing quite a lot of goals between themselves. So far the 3-4-1-2 formation is a perfect fit to get the best out of Mata and also have RVP and Rooney playing together. dee25
Barbara 15,149
Well ManU got only five shots in this match three of them blocked (all of which out of the box) and the two goals, I'm not shaking on my knees as it stands regarding their attack. Blue Armour 4,448
That RVP, Rooney, Mata forward three is going to be very interesting for United next season.Yep...maybe not quite the same as Ronaldo, Rooney (that younger Rooney), and Tevez but a potentially deadly front-line. Personally enjoy competing against a team like United in the league...City for all their squad strength don't really seem to have the bottle to convincingly take hold of the league. BlueLyon 9,359
IF United wins PL with Mata, I wonder what will be the excuse from Mou or our fans...That he still isnt good enough? Or that Mou simply cant adopt game to certain players...
Pizy 18,944
IF United wins PL with Mata, I wonder what will be the excuse from Mou or our fans...That he still isnt good enough? Or that Mou simply cant adopt game to certain players...José said from the very day he sold him there that he KNEW he'd be great in a United shirt. It's expected. It's not like he was sold because he was a shit, overrated player who would be found out at United. José has said time and time again that Mata is a great player. He just didn't fit the way we played.Still fucking hate seeing him in that shirt smiling and celebrating with those players. Sickening. Tomo 21,751
Remember Mata's achillies heels in games for us? City, Leti, Juve, Shacktar. All had powerful midfields. If Mata hurts us it will be a free kick, in regulation play im almost sure Matic will have the complete measure of him, if LVG picks him that is. 11Drogba, Ryan Fong, The Chels and 1 other
