great first touch and was it finished on his weaker foot?

If I recall correctly his first touch was woeful during pre-season - guess his touch will improve with more game time/confidence, looks a good prospect.

IMHO that first touch will improve w/ confidence & playing time - I am sure he had nerves & who wouldn't at his age. I don't expect kids to come up to the big time will a lot of composure. It's called a maturation process.

Yes I realise that, my post was slightly tongue in cheek (maybe I failed at that) but I am/have been critical of how we treat our youngsters and heap pressure/expectation on them without giving them game time to improve.

Yes, for the future not a finished product. As you saw today, the kid has loads of potential. Imagine if he was playing for le arse or l'puke right now. Would you be happy about that?

of course he is not the finished product but in that particular game last season he didn't show any potential, but im very impressed with the improvement he has made this season though.

There's a good case for letting him come back in the summer and fight for a spot in the team. With Torres (hopefully) gone then why not let him step up? He seems ready to really stake a claim and we really need to strengthen in other areas before we start looking at the likes of Cavani or Falcao. I'd rather spend £40 million on the midfield than one striker - it doesn't seem to work that well for us.

Lots of bandwagoning going on in the last pages, it's obvious who hasn't seen the past WBA matches.

Today he only played 20 minutes, more than half of them against a demoralized Liverpool with a retiring 35-year-old defender in their back 2 ( can't call it back 4 with the performance of Johnson & José Enrique today ).

Yes he can already be a great striker for Chelsea but no because he won't win you anything. He's not ready yet and will definitely need another loan, preferably to another team with a bit more quality who don't resort to counterattacking from the start.

For some reason I thought you were on about Atletico :s ignore me. Poor source but yeah, Real have as much of a chance of signing him as we do.
