Lukaku just scores goals, is confident in his ability like all good strikers are, and is still young enough to develop further. I think its time to put some faith in him, especially in the first half of the season where we are in all competitions with lots of matches to play and incase costa gets injured. We can't afford being forced to play torres once again.

I actualy like him as he is bit cocky. Several best strikers are from Rvp, Drogba, Etoo, Ibra,...and that means only that Lukaku has ambitions.

Just imagine we sell Lukaku to some PL team and he continues banging goals while our Costa flops. That would be one big fuck up.

I am certain Lukaku will be star and if we sell him, I will be even more certain. We will regret that.

And even if he has bad WC, he shouldnt be judged by that.

If he has great Wc and still gets sold, I will be pissed.

All these years of terrible strikers (bar drogba) and now we could have one realy good for next 10 years but if we wont give him the proper chance it would be realy idiotic.

Its CFC we didnt give Sturridge a chance up top either, so nothing could surprise me.

We got lucky with Drogba, he was given a chance after not such a stellar first season and managed to become a Legend

Expect him to be excellent at the World Cup and have quite a few offers from some top clubs around Europe. Despite that, I think José keeps him and he'll get plenty of games for us.

For someone who's still a tad bit iffy bat Costa I'd feel great entering the season with Lukaku as another option. He can be a massive weapon to unleash on sides and must be kept.

Jovetic started two PL matches last season and made 11 substitute appearances so even though we was injured quite a lot that's not really the best of arguments. Anyway, they also have Negredo who actually got a lot of games but City play with two strikers so three or four is minimum for them.

No one is saying we shouldn't be able to have a world class striker (Costa) and Lukaku in the team but it all depends on what Lukaku himself wants. Mourinho rotates his strikers a lot, we saw that at Real Madrid with Benzema / Higuain and also at Chelsea last season with Eto'o, Torres and Ba so Lukaku certainly would be getting a lot of games even if he was number two on paper but judging by his recent comments he would prefer to be the number one, if not at Chelsea then somewhere else. Costa and Lukaku would IMO be the perfect strikeforce for us next season but I would understand selling Lukaku for a hefty fee if the lad is not willing to stay because it's not good for anyone's sake to keep unhappy players at the club.

I remember that, amidst our Sordid Striker Situation last year and the shouts for an incoming top striker, someone suggested to buy "whoever Atletico want next" - given their amazing record of finding top quality strikers for decent fees and selling them for stellar amounts.

Well, apparently they want Lukaku to be their next striker. If he goes, he will score 30+ goals soon enough. We can then buy him back for 60m.
