Romelu Lukaku

Mou realy fucked up with him I think. When Mou came, he had shit strike force and would be perfect time to bring Lukaku into starting eleven. After all, we have transition period, our objective was top 3. Lukaku could do it. We still had Etoo and Torres to rotate. Ba should be sold back in summer.

Should Mou used Lukaku as our starter this season, we would head into next with striker who already adapted (Lukaku) and would compete for higher places. Now, Lukaku will have to adapt (start from level zero) should he be our starter next season, meaning there is very little chance of reaching better than top 3 with Lukaku next season.

Mou will buy Costa/xxx in summer and sell Lukaku, IMO. He rather trusted Torres over Lukaku in a fucking transition year, perfect time to make changes. It says all, doesnt it?

All we have to go on are a few remarks by both parties - none of us are privy to what actually was discussed.

Hindsight is an amazing thing - it has the uncanny knack of making things look better/worse...

Lets wait until the summer before deciding his fate ;)

The parallels drawn with Casillis (sp?) are crazy. Casillis was actively engaging dressing room sabotage and leaking private info to his GF (sports journalist)... A dangerous game - for which he paid the price! As the reserve keeper had SO many great games for Madrid and has now ousted him longer term. So in 'hindsight' Jose was actually right to drop him ;)

See - its a tough one ;)

Another adage worth remembering is 'careful what you wish for...'

Personally, Lukaku is doing well - I probably would leave him at Everton for another season, IF they get CL football. Will be a great test for him. No denying his raw ability - but CL is the next step up...

And he hasn't got the right mentality why? Because he wants to play?

No, I think that's exactly what he wants. What I would guess he isn't too fond of, is giving out any guarantees on playing time, other than whoever performs the best plays.

Not big fan of him, still need to grow up as a person. But he is 20 years old and already one of the top scorers in PL. If he already wasn't ours, there definitely be some stupid rumors that we want him for 50m or something. And i really doubt that Costa is much better. In fact, there not much strikers around better, and all of them are hard to get. Will be stupid to lose him.

Costa, Lukaku and Eto'o/Torres, would equal to Man city, Livepool and United' strike force. Lukaku will get games, i just hope he doesn't demand to be our number 1 striker.

Obviously he's not the finished article yet, on the ball he could be a bit better, but the fact is he scores goals. Costa and Lukaku would be devastating. If we do sell him to fund the Costa singing, what happens if Costa gets injured? we'll be left with Eto'o or Torres...

I don't fucking care if he rots on the bench or not. We are a big club and we need to have a WC striker as back-up to our main man and competing for the staring spot. If he is that good as he think he is, he might as well take the staring role from our main striker( Costa, preferably). He should stop acting like a whiny bitch and focus on being the best for his parent club.

I don't think Jose will sell him after sturridge's bombardment at Liverfool .. we can say that Mata didn't fit Mou's system but Lukaku surely does!

So I think he's already our sub striker next season .. and will rotate with whoever we have upfront .. our bench is a weakness actually and we need to renforce it .. so why not with who is already ours?!

a 20 year old should never ever sit on a bench, nowhere, this is a general rule and a very simple one in real life football. As a 20 year old, you need to play games, not serve as a back up, if you would be sitting on a bench at that age(wich is normal in a top team like chelsea), you need to go play at a team that is playing at a lower lvl, and that's exactly what this loan is good for.

and whiny bitch, dude please...

He will NOT want to come back to us as a second striker, not when he's in the form he's currently in.

Hopefully, if Torres were to leave, and Eto'o ended his 1-year deal with us, Lukaku would be first choice followed by Demba Ba and possibly a younger utility striker!

Never gonna happen (unfortunately). Mourinho wants to spend big. Diego Costa for sure. He's never been interested in giving high potentials a chance to grow. He even wanted to sell Hazard in the beginning, that tells you everything.

So Lukaku will be sold to the competition for around 20 mil (not enough if you ask me), Diego Costa will come in, I can also see Eto'o & Torres both leaving. Another 20-30 mil striker coming in as supersub (with lower potential than Lukaku for sure), and Ba to warm the bench. That's the way Mourinho rolls.

The other week I was saying that a lot of people are overstating his weakness way too much. However, there is also a thing of overrating him as well.

Do not mistake one good game for 'form'. Form is putting in a string of good performances and goals, which he hasn't really done since earlier in the season. Inconsistency will always be a part of such a young players game; so a 20 year old striker would be delighted as 2nd choice at a club that plays Champions League football, 60+ games a year and fights for titles on every front (and not just for 4th).

For example, if Lukaku is sold, would he be bought as a main striker for one of the top 5-10 teams in the world? I severely doubt they'll want to rely on someone so young and inexperienced in the truly big games (CL).

I get your point, but you're wrong on the form part, check his last 7 matches on whoscored.com and you'll notice that Lukaku is in blistering form in fact. Very high rating, MOTM performances, goals, assists.

Any top team who plays two strikers up front would have an excellent employee in Lukaku imo.

Are you sure.

So Lukaku will be sold to the competition for around 20 mil

to Bayern

Barca

Real Madrid

Atletico

Arsenal

Liverpool

Man United

Man City

PSG

Monaco

Borussia Dortmund

Everton or Spurs

He's a great young talent and he's done amazingly well, but if we sell him and bring in Costa then we're going to be in a stronger position going forward. It's a lesson to other young players - don't ask to leave the club because you might not come back.

Sometimes you need to sit on bench and wait for your chances. Same with Lukaku. He isnt world class striker, not mentaly or technicaly ready to lead team with expectations by Mou (winning PL and CL next year). He MUST get a chance, but buying Costa and having Lukaku on bench is useless for Lukaku. He wants to play regulary, he will get maybe 15 games if we do get Costa. Buying Rooney was vital from that aspect last summer. He would be able to play next to Lukaku and is old enough to make way for Lukaku eventualy. Costa is top striker and just 25 and if we pay 40mio for him and things work out, he will be our starter for next 5 years at least. No point of having Lukaku then. If we get Costa, Lukaku will leave. Unless we play two striker formation, but that wont happen anyway.

Either we do: 1.) Lukaku main striker next year 2.) buy experienced, top striker, aged 29+ who will play only for two years max and then give place to Lukaku 3.) buy top striker ala Costa who is 25 and will play here for next 5 years and we sell Lukaku.

What's all this nonsense about Lukaku not being "mentally ready"? Everton just played one of the most important games in their history and Lukaku chose that very match to produce a cracker of a goal and a MOTM performance, 8.5 rating on Who Scored ...

Same when Belgium had to win in Croatia to secure WC qualification. Lukaku had to stand in for Benteke, everybody was afraid he wouldn't "cope with the pressure". BAM! Lukaku scores twice, and not tap ins :) #lukakufacts
