Romelu Lukaku

Manager Van Holsbeeck shed some light on the transfer soap of Romelu Lukaku: "There still is a long way in the negotiations", he said. So the rumours about Lukaku leaving this week, may have been a bit premature.

But the manager counts on Lukaku leaving: "We need some patience at the moment. When Romelu made his decision, we'll bring you more news." Lukaku leaving, would also give Anderlecht the necessary funds to do one or two big transfers. The Mauves are also looking for money to keep funding the stadium enlargement.

So what about Chelsea? Van Holsbeeck: "We are indeed negotiating with Chelsea, but there are also some other clubs we're still talking with."

Of course it's not a secret Romelu Lukaku is a Chelsea fan himself. The Blues are also eager to land the talent. So Van Holsbeeck's statements only seem to confirm that the London based club still is in pole position for the transfer of the Belgian striker.

Lukaku, Torres, Sturridge = the future!

Hmm dont really see Lukaku as a Left Winger, i think we should play 4-4-2 with Torres and Lukaku as Strikers and Sturridge on the Right Wing and Arda Turan on the Left Wing!

Roman: is 20million for Lukaku enough?

RSCA: YES

He isnt a left winger in that formation, he is on the left of a front three which is different but i dont know that he would be most effective there either, the Neymar/Kun type of player would be better suited imo

Neymar or Kun could play only as strikers in 4-4-2 and so would Sturridge. When you play that formation you need to have real wingers that will return and help out the defense. Take a look at Nani and Valencia and who does Ferguson like more.

the formation being talked about was 433 not 442.

this was the original post

Lukaku, Torres, Sturridge = the future!

it was then commented that lukaku wouldnt be a good winger, which is why i pointed out that in a 3 up front he wouldnt be a winger but that the neymar type of player would be better suited imo

Chelsea nearing double deal for Romelu Lukaku and Kevin De Bryune

Anderlecht have finally confirmed they're in talks with Chelsea over the summer transfer of striker Romelu Lukaku.

Genk's highly-rated winger Kevin De Bruyne has also revealed he's ready to sign for the Blues – even if he's immediately loaned out to Anderlecht as part of the deal for Lukaku.

Herman van Holsbeeck, general manager of the Brussels outfit, told Sky Sports: 'There is still a long way to go in the negotiations (for Lukaku).

'We are indeed negotiating with Chelsea, but there are other clubs we are talking to.

'It (a deal) could happen in the next half hour, it could take until August 31, that is football.'

Meanwhile, 19-year-old De Bruyne has apparently expressed his wish to join the Blues after helping to guide Genk to the Belgian league title.

'Kevin is ready to step forward in his career now, he has done what he needs to at Genk and is ready for the next step,' said his agent Patrick de Koster.

'And Kevin wants to move to England.

'He knows Chelsea have been following him for a long time, and Chelsea would be his first choice, I had meetings with other clubs - although nothing more than on a scouting level, but he knows what can be achieved at Chelsea.

'Kevin, though, is happy with the prospect of joining Anderlecht (on loan) - he has stated that himself.

'He knows Chelsea have a history of this (loaning out players) and if you do well you will get your chance.'
