His agent is only his representative. If Lukaku would rather move to Chelsea than United then he can only grant his wish. Everton would still get the same fee regardless of the destination so they wouldn't be bothered. It's definitely not dead but only if the club is seriously interested.

True, Raiola can't singlehandedly decide where Lukaku ends up at but it's been well known for ages that Mino prefers United because they pay him the most in agent fees, that's why so many of his clients are there (Pogba, Mkhi, Zlatan and soon Lukaku).

What I meant was that for United to be in such a strong position that they're confident enough to make a press briefing about the agreement must mean they have gotten guarantees from Lukaku's camp the transfer will go through no matter what. If there was still some uncertainties to sort out or there was a chance of Lukaku still going elsewhere should Chelsea match the bid and contract offer, then United wouldn't have leaked the info to the press.

Nothing is signed yet of course but a gentleman's agreement is surely in place between Lukaku, Raiola and United so it's not in anyone's best interest to back out on that.

Breaking news...

Lukaku is still going to Chelsea apparently. His first touch took him to Man United for a minute but he's back on track now

seen this on another forum made me chuckle quite a lot tbh lol

This forum makes me lol at times 1st it was Michael Emenalo fault now it's Marina Granovskaia fault fs lads make your mind up :P

Marina is really just a negotiator; she doesn't decide how much Chelsea pays for a player, i am sure that decision comes somewhere else. If they tell here the most we are willing to pay for Lukaku is 60m, and Everton demand is far from that. There is nothing she could do.

Best summer transfer news so far!! I spent the last few months with this bad feeling that Lukaku would be signing for us at some point.

Stop moaning please, we're offering 60m for a wing back, if we don't pay 75m for a striker it's because WE (personify in the figure of the mighty Antonio) DON'T WANT HIM. And I personally fully agree with him.

I've just read someone saying on Twitter that Batman and Lllorente is just fine.... Fucking hell have our standards dropped that much in the space of 6 hours.

Didn't realise we turned into a bottom half team with no CL learn something new every day eh lad

Whether you wanted Lukaku or not celebrating this is idiotic. With Utd setting the price at 75m, it weakens our position with other targets. The market has just gotten smaller and dollars will be harder to negotiate.

Whoever our target was we should've locked him up before anyone else, now we're left scrambling and negotiating from a weakened position.

The club have shown a lack of ambition for quite a while now, any deal over 35m and we're hymming and hawwing until someone else comes in and grabs the player.

This is a disaster...
